{ 8 } 30 years in the making... CHECK-IN YOUR LOCATION AT SCROOGE THE MUSICAL!

We are making history this year as we enter our 30th season of Scrooge The Musical. This may be your first time seeing the production, or you may have been coming for the last 30 years... But needless to say, we have come a long way. Take a moment and walk with us down memory lane.

The very first season of Scrooge began in 1982 right here at what was then called People’s Church. Over the past 30 years only four individuals have played the role of Ebenezer Scrooge. Our cast has doubled in size from less than 50 actors to nearly 100 individuals in the cast. It takes over 400 volunteers to make this production happen.

The set you see today has transformed dramatically over the years. We’ve expanded the stage 180 degrees, doubling the size. This year you’ll notice that we remodeled Scrooge’s bedroom adding a second story. Each year we add new and exciting special effects such as pyrotechnics, lighting during the show and magical snow at the end of each performance. Characters such as Scrooge and the three angels have been flying through the air since 2002.

If you’ve been coming for any amount of time you will always be pleasantly surprised by a new song being added to the show. That’s because we’ve now written and produced 14 of the 17 songs featured in the musical. Every year the crowd is de-lighted by the live orchestra, magnificent singing and high-energy dancing.

Scrooge The Musical has become a long-standing holiday tradition for many families in the Pacific Northwest. Over half a million people have attended 300 performances in the last 30 years making a lasting impact on our com-munity and we’re not done yet. Champions Centre looks forward to the years ahead. Our production of Scrooge the Musical is not just another holiday performance. It’s a story with a real-life applicable message—it’s the hope of lives being changed and transformed by Christ. That is the true meaning of Christmas.

Character Q & ADOUG CAMERON // ScroogeWHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED FOR, CELEBRATING THE 30TH YEAR OF SCROOGE? What an incredible and monumental achievement—this year, we celebrate 30 years of Scrooge—and this is my very first year as a part of the cast! I love be-ing involved in such a long-running tradition here in the Pacific Northwest. WHEN WAS THE FIRST TIME YOU SAW SCROOGE? I first saw the play in 1994, and sat all the way up top. Trotfield was out front greeting people, and I just remember being mesmerized by the quality of the show. People that never come to church come just to see Scrooge The Musical!

TONY RUIZ // ScroogeWHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT?Well 1993 was the first year I was a part of the production. Over the years I’ve played the role of Cratchit, Fred, and Marley. In 2003, Scrooge was injured and I had to jump in and play the role last second.ANY SPECIAL PRE-SHOW TRADITIONS?Every show I spend time before hand praying that God can use us as a tool to reach people.

BRITTNEY PERI // Adult BelleFUN FACTS? This is my eighth year playing Belle, and I still get painfully nervous before my scenes! My dog, Daisy, is apart of the show this year. And, last but not least, my hair is not real and it takes an army to button my costume jacket!ANY SPECIAL PRE-SHOW TRADITIONS? I always shoot a basketball—one handed—behind the stage before I go out for curtain call. It doesn’t have anything to do with the performance, and I’m not at all superstitious, but it’s a fun and comforting tradition!

DAVEY JONES // Bob CratchitWHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED FOR, CELEBRATING THE 30TH YEAR OF SCROOGE?I am most excited for my sons. I love how they are starting off at such a young age, being involved in something so big for God. Acting is something I started doing young, so it’s cool to see the boys following in my footsteps!ANY SPECIAL PRE-SHOW TRADITIONS?I don’t do anything special before a show. However, to release any tension or nerves I might have, I always yawn right before I go on stage. It always does the trick!

SCOT NICHOLSON // Tom TrotfieldWHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED FOR?For people (who think they are just coming to a play) to be introduced or re-connected with God! Dramatically changed or not, I hope a seed is planted, so that years from now a person’s heart is ready to receive the goodness of God. ANY SPECIAL PRE-SHOW TRADITIONS? I step outside and sing as loud as I can (I’m the town-crier, for goodness sake!).FUN FACTS? Often times I come to rehearsal directly from work still wearing my heavy work boots. I feel like a giant with 200 pound feet trying to learn the dance steps; I’m always concerned about stepping on someone’s feet.

A. JAY TAYLOR // Angel of Christmas Present WHAT PART OF SCROOGE ARE YOU THE MOST EXCITED ABOUT? I am most excited to be a part of tradition, and generations of families, con-sider this production a major part of their holiday season—and what a way to present the Gospel to others!FUN FACTS?When I was called back during the audition process, the first question asked of me was: “Are you afraid of heights?” That should have been my official warn-ing! Boy, was I in for a treat!

ASHLEY BARNES // Mrs. DilberHOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PERFORMING? I tried out for Scrooge four years ago on a whim... And landed a role I never expected to land. Now, I sing! I dance! I act—ladies and gents, I get to do it all! These past four years as Mrs. Dilber have been a blast.FAVORITE SCROOGE SCENE? Mine, of course! No, but seriously — I’m a weeping willow every time Belle and Eb break up (Oops, SPOILER ALERT!).

Policies & InfoFor those who love formalities, we salute you...

TICKET REFUNDS AND EXCHANGESBefore purchasing tickets, carefully review your event date and seat selections. Then, do it again. Ask everyone in your party if the dates work. Hurry, you only have 15 minutes until your cart expires, then you have to start all over. In doing so, you help our ticket office from becoming a mad house. Our lovely ticket office volunteers are asked not to issue exchanges or refunds after a ticket has been purchased, or for lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed tickets.

PLENTY OF FREE PARKINGIn addition to our always free parking, you have the option to purchase Premium Parking for $7.00 at check-out when buying your tickets. Just think, a shorter walk in the rain makes for better hair all evening long!

WE LOVE KIDS!With that said, we think it’s best to have kids three and under stay at home with a fun baby sitter. This way you can sit back, relax and experience the show with other bigs kids just like you!

CAPTURING THE MOMENTSDuring the show, please no flash photography or video recording. You might disrupt and angel in flight causing her to fall on an unsuspect-ing patron. Ouch! Go ahead and take all the pictures you want before and after the show!

DO YOU USE REAL THUNDER AND LIGHTENING?No silly! It’s just special effects brought to you by our amazing crew. All humor aside—please be aware that we use strobe lights to cre-ate these effects. And research tells us there is a condition, called photosensitive epilepsy, which affects about one in twenty people with epilepsy.

ACCOMMODATIONS FOR PATRONS WITH DISABILITIES...Champions Centre is wheelchair accessible, yeah! Those with disabili-ties and special needs will be seated on a first come, first served basis by calling the ticket office and not going online to purchase. Help us help you by telling us your particular needs up front.

FOUR-LEGGED FRIENDSA. K. A. Service Animals. These lovable pets are welcome to experi-ence the show with you, that is, if they’re on the clock. Please leave all other furry four-legged friends at home—maybe with that fun baby sitter you got for your kids!

DID YOU KNOW?Our average seat size is 20”. If you love sharing factoids with your friends, you should tweet that.

LISTENING ENHANCEMENT DEVICES...?We’re sophisticated, but this one leaves us scratching our head. Good news is we do offer ASL interpretation during the first show, every year!

SLIDING DOWN THE BANISTERS IS PROHIBITEDIf the stairs aren’t for you, we ask that you take the elevator located at the top and bottom of the Bookstore.

CAN’T HOLD IT ANY LONGER?Our clean and tidy rest rooms are located next to the Bookstore and Coffee Shoppe on both floor levels.
