Typology When we read the Old Testament, we see
many things that point to events in the New Testament, the coming of the Messiah
Abraham’s sacrifice of Isaac points to God’s sacrifice of His Son Jesus on the cross
Thus we say that Isaac it a “type” (prototype) of Christ
The study of “types” such as this in the Old Testament is called Typology
