FADE IN:

FOREST – LATE DAY/DUSK

Eric is walking in forest alone, leafs and twigs are crunching underfoot.

FADE FROM BLACK WITH AUDIO PLAYING OVER:

Eric is walking with an axe in hand (towards camera) passing unusual/unfitting things of a forest (A girl playing marbles, etc.) without paying them any attention.Eric walks past camera and comes to an almost make-believe looking person stood still facing him (Travis).

ERIC, mentally disturbed man in his 20s. Dressed/styled abnormally, has an uneasy look on his face and has a red substance on him.

ERICAlright?

TRAVIS, an unresponsive, tall man dressed in a big coat and a hat.

TRAVISCan you explain to me what you’ve done?

ERICAren’t we lucky with the weather day; I mean it’s not often I’m in

the forest but jeez isn’t it great in here?(TRAVIS stares blankly back, unamused)

Oh you were talking about this (indicating to rough, red stained clothes)… I think -and this is just an idea- I think you know

exactly what I have been up to.

TRAVIS(disappointed/concerned) Eric…

ERICShe had it coming. She knew what’s wrong with me and she’d provoked me. She got exactly what she deserved. You would have done the same.

TRAVIS (Interrupting with a raised voice) Do not tell me what I would have

done.

ERICShe cancelled. She was helping me. “We’re really close Eric”, then boom – cancelled. I told her everything. Everything in this mess

(points to head) and then she runs off! She had it coming.

During this the little girl looks around as if she senses something and begins to make her way to behind Travis where Eric can see her.

TRAVIS(interrupting again, now shouting with frustration) Eric

Cut to long shot and crows noises – startled by the noise.

TRAVISThis was not her. All this was brought on by you. You know why she

cancelled don’t you?

WHIP PAN TRANSITION:

ANOTHER PART OF THE FOREST

A lady walking her dog spots Eric and continues walking. She then notices he’s talking to himself; looks concerned and slows down.Muffled, inaudible audio of Eric’s part of the conversation playing over

WHIP PAN TRANSITION:

ERIC’S PART OF THE FORESTConversation has continued and is now audible again although its direction has become unknown. The girl is now behind Travis.

ERICSo I took the axe. This one right here… and I swung, and swung and

swung. I couldn’t stop.

The girl then points to direction of the woman walking. Eric turns around in confusion of why she’s up. When he turns back Travis and the girl have gone.

ERIC Until next time…

(Quickly and sarcastically) Fun time, fun time

Eric re-grips his axe and enthusiastically moves out of frame in the direction of the woman.

FADE TRANSITION WITH A WOMAN’S SCREEM BETWEEN THE FADE:

INDOORS A COFFEE SHOP:

ABIGALE, Eric’s psychiatrist. Dressed smart-casual with glasses.

Abigale is going through papers titled “Patient Records: Eric” making notes and trying to draw conclusions over a coffee. Flicking through the pages, the camera pans to show an empty coffee shop with Travis stood at a door (although she is unable to see this). When she reaches the back page she writes “section ASAP” and picks up her notes carelessly and leaves passing Travis as if he’s not there.
