Scrambler WEB Browser Interface Scrambler publishes its monitoring and alerting information on the Internet WEB (with security) which provides an extremely useful feedback loop for support.

When you get an alert you can go into Internet Explorer or Netscape and browse the Scrambler WEB page.

From there you can see the status of all current alerts and what problems are outstanding. If an escalating alert is in progress you can cancel any further escalation.

You can also send a ‘manual page’ from here to a pager or cellphone to tell someone else what is happening.

Any user can make use of manual paging as a valuable addition to email. For security, they can only page the centrally maintained contact list.

UNIX SYSLOG is a built-in part of all UNIX servers, and automatically monitors UNIX events. It is the UNIX equivalent of the NT Event Logs.Without Scrambler it is very difficult to make good use of it.

Scrambler can monitor any number of IBM AS/400 servers from a single NT workstation.

AS/400 monitoring uses the Scrambler’s AS/400 LOGIN Monitored Object (MO).

User provides AS/400 username and password to the MO in the ‘Scrambler for NT’ software so it can log in.

The MO periodically logs into the AS/400 to check system availability (the frequency is set by the user).

After it has logged in, the MO can run CL scripts on the AS/400 to check for additional critical problems.
