To whom it may concern:
Scott Trujillo is an outstanding science teacher who I hired five years ago at Johnson
Junior High School. For the past couple years, he has been the seventh grade science
department chair. He also taught eighth grade physical science and assisted his
department at all times. During this time, he worked with the seventh and eighth
grade science department and compiled common assessments and lesson plans.
Scott incorporates many fun and interesting activities into his curriculum to hook
students into science, some of these activities included; 2liter bottle rockets
showing Newton’s laws of motion, build your own instruments showing wave
fundamentals, a project based learning module called Fraud which taught students
to use forensics as a science tool, and the student’s favorite, and the car push race to
investigate motion.
Scott also volunteered to assist the school in several ways by allowing us to move
him from eighth grade to seventh grade thus having to learn a new curriculum. He
worked with the administration in assisting a new science teacher and took on
several professional developments while working on his Master’s degree which he
finished in 2011.
Scott enjoys teaching. He relates well with his students and implemented the
ski/snowboard club when students showed him the interest. He assisted with the
Jazz band after school, the eighth grade talent show, quarterly dances, and yearbook
signing activities.
Scott is an excellent candidate for an international teaching position as he is a
professional teacher with in-depth knowledge of science and has an enthusiastic
personality. He will be missed. I would not hesitate to hire him again if he wished to
return to Clark County School District. If you have any questions, please contact me
at 702-799-4480.
Sincerely,
Terry Ann Sobrero
Johnson Junior High School Principal
To whom it may concern:
I've worked as Scott Trujillo's administrator for 3 years at Walter Johnson Middle School. I am over his department and have evaluated his performance many times. He is a terrific teacher who shows exceptional rapport with his students. Wile observing his class, I have been impressed with his knowledge of science and his ability to develop lessons which engage students. He has shown flexibility in being able to successfully change grades throughout his tenure here. He is also a hard worker who has shown great professionalism, especially for being a young teacher. He often goes above and beyond his required duties by organizing clubs, field trips and participating in school activities. He has approached me with his eagerness to further his career through a teach abroad program. I fully support his endeavors and recommend him as a strong candidate for your school. I know we here at Walter Johnson Middle School would be more than willing to rehire him upon his completion.
