The community for science education in Europe is funded under the European Union's Seventh Framework Framework for Research and Development. Scientix collects and promotes best practices in science teaching and learning in Europe, and organises trainings and workshops for STEM

Educational impact

Educational portals such as Scientix, eTwinning, inGenious, GoLab, etc. are tailored to the needs of young people as a blended learning method which links VET and general secondary education. All of these can help reduce ESL.

Conclusions

Change needs to occur at grassroots; so schools must be a primary focus of new programmes to enhance curriculum, pedagogy and assessment in the field of STEM.

To conclude, there are plenty of opportunities in Europe- e.g. Scientix- which are perfect starting points for tackling the problem of STEM education in a more systemic and efficient way
