Questions are based on observations of things around you.

Step Two: Form a Hypothesis
A hypothesis is an educated guess or possible explanation for your question. It must be testable.

Step Three: Test the Hypothesis
The hypothesis is tested using a controlled experiment.
Two groups are tested in a controlled experiment.
The experimental group has only one thing different from the control group.
The one thing that changes is called the variable.

Step Four: Analyze Your Results (or Data)
Data is analyzed by putting it into graphs, charts, and tables.

The conclusion tells whether the hypothesis agreed or disagreed with the data from the experiment.
