Full name – Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley Born – 30 August 1797 Died – 1 February 1851 Wife of P. B. Shelley She was English novelist, Short Story writer, Dramatist, essayist, biographer and travel writer. Best known for her Gothic novel Frankenstein: or, The Modern Prometheus.

About the Novel: It is story of a young student of Natural Philosophy and chemistry in the university of Ingolstadt. He is obsessed by the desire to discover the secret of life. He applied his Knowledge of natural Philosophy and chemistry through creating monster. It is made of human dead body corpses. The creature is look like human beingThese kind of macking creature disastrous for him and his family at the end of the novel.

nature and also god design.

Science v/s Nature In book Juxtaposition of nature and science. Dr. Victor Frankenstein is a man of science. Creation of monster In the creation of the monster science wins out

but it does not wins out in the end. Monster runs away from lab and living in

nature. He learns about speaking and also human

emotion through the nature. This is also place that the monster has some

self awareness and figures out who he is. The monster learns about himself and

becomes more human outside of the lab and in nature.

Frankenstein himself become less happy, less human and more miserable without nature.

He is consumed in his science and turns in to a some what bad person.

When he is at the home he is depressed and the only time he can gain some semblance of happiness is when he is out in nature.

Conclusion

There is no doubt a juxtaposition between science and nature. Science is looked at as trying to harness nature and create it. Nature is, where the monster grew and where he became self aware. The nature is according to Frankenstein a more powerful force than science.
