Making Slime

1. Collect a lab coat and safety glasses2. At your station you will find :- a plastic cup a paddle pop stick a 100ml measuring cylinder

a 10ml measuring cylinder borax solution PVA solution

Food dye sealable bag marking pen3. Measure out 30ml PVA solution4. Measure out 5ml Borax solution5. Add these two solutions to the plastic cup with 2 drops of food dye6. Very, very gently mix together using the paddle pop stick. Once it

starts to get thick (congeal) mix faster, until you have your SLIME.7. Play with it. Place it in the sealable bag to take home.8. Label the bag ‘Slime’ so people know what is in the bag.

Exothermic:- To give of heat and get hot

Meniscus:- the curved upper surface of a liquid in a tube, cylinder etc.

Combustion:- the process of burning something.

Spontaneous Ignition:- a combustion reaction or process that occurs through self heating.
