Kites Home LearningAny work should be completed in children’s homework books.
Children have recently received an updated Home Learning Grid and the work below adds more detail linked to English and Maths. All the below are suggestions to support you with your child’s learning during this time and should be used as you see fit. Please do not feel that every area has to be covered although I would encourage children to keep continuing with their learning during any period of closure. SpellingsChildren should focus on spelling activities for their year group including practising the word lists. Spellingframe.co.uk www.spellingframe.co.uk (no log in required)English The children have been tasked with writing a short story of their choice. They should focus on this applying their understanding of story writing from earlier in the year, remembering non-negotiables, their personal targets and ‘wow’ me with their imaginative ideas, word choice and organisational skills. The following websites might help for ideas. The Literacy Shed https://www.literacyshed.com/home.html - lots of different
sheds for discussion and writing ideas. Pobble 365 http://www.pobble365.com/ - a daily picture as a stimulus
for discussion and writing. Grammar and PunctuationChildren will be set activities which they should attempt and then review. They should all have log in details in their reading records but if there any issues please contact Mrs O via the School Office.Spag.com www.spag.com MathsWe are currently learning about fractions and then decimals including percentages for Y5’s. We follow White Rose Planning and the link is below. You need to look at the Spring term planning for Y4/5 which will give you an overview and also some resources you can access for home learning.
