School Slates Opening At New Akin Addition Hale Center Public Schools will be hosting an open house at their newly finished $780,000 addition at Akin Elementary. The open hose will be held from 2-S pm. Sunday afternoon, and the community is encouraged to allend. ConslrUction began on the addition in June o( 1992 and was recently completed. Serving as general contractor and designing the addition was DSA of Clebum. The construction of the addition was given the top priority of the Long Range Planning Commillee, made up of residents, businessmen and teachers. The facility is considered to be a top notch addition to the school district. The facility features three classrooms, large teachers work area, with an underground library, computer lab and music room, all carpeted and an activity gym. The underground portion of the new facility at Akin and the f1fth-eighth grades housed in Junior High and North Elementary. LULAC seeks the formation of an election scheme that includes single member electoral districts to enSure a city council will not cancel out; minimize, or dilute the voting strength of minority voters. "It 's Coming" Sunday, 'July Slh. Residents will be celebrating the Hale Center Centennial Birthday by coming together as a community for a worship service. The worship service will be located in Ihe newly constructed Centennial Pavilion atlhe City Park,

Churches in the conununity will be leading the special worship services. Pastors · and members of the local chw-ches w ill bring the worship message. During the centennial ·church service
