BORE PUMP
The shared bore and pump (Settlers Primary and City of Rockingham) has been out of service pending replacement of parts. It should be repaired this week which will see our lawns returned to their former standard.

Science Room News
Next week in Science (April 4th to 7th) classes will be learning about buoyancy in a fun lesson called “Will it Float”. All students are encouraged to try and stump their class with a bizarre or mundane mystery item brought in from home. So start looking around your house now for your mystery item. The item needs to be safe from water damage and small enough to fit into our water containers, so nothing too big and nothing that can be damaged by water. Choose your mystery item and bring it to school next week on your Science day.
The Science room is looking great and students are having a fantastic time participating in their weekly Science lessons. You can help make our Science room well-stocked by donating some resources to us. We need clean jars of all sizes, containers (such as icecream containers), plastic drink bottles, towels and tea-towels.
Thanks for your ongoing support.

On Wednesday 30th March 135 year 6 & 7 students participated in the Comet Bay School Sport Association Summer Carnival. Settlers entered 4 cricket teams, 2 softball teams, 2 volleyball teams and 4 league tag teams. The carnivals were held at Lark Hill and the volleyball at Endeavour PS.
Congratulations to all students who represented the school for your outstanding behaviour, sportsmanship and efforts on the day.
The boys cricket team (Damon Cramer, Tate Ralph, Callum Davidson, Jayden Elisarow, Cody Hughes, Daniel Beattie, Luke Chambers, Zac Leeson, Duncan Van Zyl & Liam Whittick) performed extremely well on the day and managed to win the Aaron Heal Shield. Congratulations on not only your success but more importantly the way you organised yourselves, encouraged each other and the mateship that you displayed on the day. I watched with great pride during your games.
I would like to thank all the parents that supported the students on the day. Your support is greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank Tania Dansey-Smaller, Mark Needs and Daryll Stout who coached some of the league tag teams, Joanne Hart who coached the Year 7 volleyball team and Luke Chapman who assisted with the mixed cricket team. Your support allows the school to continue to offer these wonderful experiences to our students.
Finally I would like to say a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Settlers PS for your efforts on the day, coaching and mentoring our students and preparing the students during the HOT Wednesday afternoon senior sport sessions this term. Thank you to Mr Hall, Mr Lillimagi, Mrs Dennerley and Mr Moorley who coached the cricket teams, Ms Hesketh and Ms Moses who coached the softball teams, Mr Lawry and Mrs Panting who coached the league tag teams and finally Mrs McConnachy who coached the volleyball team and Mrs Carpenter who prepared the volleyball teams.
Our ANZAC service will be held on Friday 15th April at 9am to honour the servicemen and women who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces.
Two students from each block will lay a wreath, D3 and D4 will perform “Compulsory Hero” and the choir will perform “The Last Anzac”. Demi Thomson will recite a poem.
We would like to invite parents and friends of the school to share this day of remembrance with us and to join us for morning tea after the service. Students who are members of the Scouts or Guides are welcome to wear their uniform.
If for cultural reasons your child needs to be withdrawn from this service, please contact your classroom teacher so that arrangements can be made.
