The Impact of Parent Involvement
• Important for parents to be involved in their
children’s education
• Parents shape their children’s beliefs and attitudes
towards school and schoolwork
• The earlier and more direct parent’s involvement in
their child’s educational progress, the more positive
the impact on the child’s academic results and
experience of schoolwork.

ClassDojo
ClassDojo is a communication app for the classroom.
It facilitates a two-way communication between
teacher and parents.
Teachers will be using this app for important messages
on class matters, school matters and/or individual
student feedback.
Parents can respond, seek feedback and/or send concerns to the teacher directly.
White Sands Primary School
15
Teachers may not be able to respond to queries
immediately, especially those that come in late in
the evening.
The app should not be used for asking about
homework etc. Students are expected to be

Parent’s Role
Suggestions• Build a good child-parent relationship
• Avoid comparing your child’s performance with that of
others
• Link praise to effort, attitude or behaviour rather than the
result [“You did well due to your effort. Congrats!”]
Academic resilience [ability to deal with academic setback &
challenges] plays a big part in whether child remains motivated
