Dear Sir / Madam,It is indeed a matter of scholastic pleasure to bring this small publication to post you with the ambrosial salience of a renowned seat of learning and research in management and computer areas - School of Management Sciences, Varanasi. The current positioning of SMS Varanasi in the high profile bracket of Top 50 B- Schools of India has certainly brought it a highly acclaimed scholastic credibility in as much as placing this institution among the few selected and most sought-after B-Schools of the country. More sanguinely, the dashing maturity of SMS Varanasi, in terms of providing a more meaningful context for nurturing academic & intellectual strivings, vibrant extra-curricular activities, outreach initiatives and civic engagement coupled with its Journals getting indexed in International Data-base, Scopus, Elsevier and hosted on OJAS platform of INFLIBNET (UGC) have been attracting recognitions at both national and global levels. aranasi, also called Kashi or Banaras, is
Vactually the Land of Eternity between the rivers Varuna and Assi and has been
acclaimed to be one of the noblest places in not only India, but the whole of the world.
Situated on the banks of the holy Ganga, where the pious river takes a crescent sweep towards the North, Varanasi rightly entails the spring of the outstanding human values, the climax in aesthetics, and the aristocracy of the rich Indian ethos. This City of Light has been the permanent home of Lord Vishwanath, who is believed to keep the holy city alive on his Trident even when the whole world may be doomed in the grip of so called 'pralaya'. That is why; this celestial place, decorated with temples and shrines of so many deities located in the vicinity of colourful ghats on the banks of Ganga, facilitates the gurus to gather their disciples, encourages yogis to practice their yogas and ascetics, and equally invites the hermits of various religions and sects for sermonizing their teachings.
Varanasi has further been a confluence of the golden streams of thought of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Vaishnavism and Vedic philosophy since the times immemorial. Lord Buddha, the 'Awakened One', preferred Kashi for delivering his maiden sermons on the 'Eight-Fold Noble Path' and 'Dharmachakra' at Sarnath. Kabir too got his enlightenment on the steep stairs of the Ghats of Kashi and Tulsi created his monumental and epoch making contributions like Ramacharit Manas & Vinaya Patrika on the holy banks of Ganga. It is on account of the unique sanctity of this place that Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya chose Banaras for establishing the well-known 'Banaras Hindu University' the singular seat of 'All Learning of the World'.
Such is the magnanimity of Varanasi, where the School of Management Sciences has been set up with the objective of training our young generation in a true cosmopolitan environment that could cater to the plural and versatile needs. Varanasi is certainly an attractive and thriving city to live and to study. With its sacred character and glorious heritage this holy city offers everything from the excitement of a big city to the eternal peace and tranquility.
