Industrial Internship Programme

This 22-weeks Industrial Internship Programme (IIP) is a new and exciting addition to the array of choices students can enjoy. As a part of the graduation requirement, students can choose to complete the Industrial Internship Programme in the place of the Final Year Project.

The purpose of the internship programme is to provide students with experience in an industrial and professional setting to hone their career-enhancing skills. Being interned to a specific employer also offers opportunities to take up available positions directly after graduation.

A substantial number of our graduates are working in the civil sector, for example, as education officers (teachers) at MOE, and executives at MOFA, MOM and MOH.

Others are employed, for example, as:• Management executive, Citibank Singapore.• Team leader, Wealth management, HSBC.• Data analyst, Barclays Capital.• Regulatory Affairs Executive, Bayer Chemicals.• Operations Manager, Singapore General Hospital.• Clinical Services Executive, Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceuticals.

Get a head-start in your career!

Career Prospects – Unlimited Opportunities!

The majority of our Biological Sciences’ graduates are currently working as scientific and research personnel at University laboratories, national research institutes (GIS, IMCB, BTI, DSO, DSTA, etc), and private research institutes (GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis, Roche, etc) while others are studying for a PhD degree at local and overseas universities or the graduate medical degree at Duke-NUS Medical School.

For graduates with an additional Psychology Major, career opportunities are further extended to include scopes such as employment counsellors, correction counsellors, interviewers, personnel analysts, and writers. In Singapore,

and overseas, career for graduates in Psychology are increasing. The

Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health,

and the Police are among the Singaporean government agencies interested in hiring Psychology graduates. In the private sector opportunities range more widely – e.g.

Our pedagogy produces graduates that are not only trained for a career in Life Sciences but equipped with knowledge and experience applicable to diverse career paths locally and internationally.

the sales/service sector, administrative support, public affairs, education, business, advertising, health, and the media.

Our Double Degree in Biomedical Sciences & Chinese Medicine graduates are well-positioned to consider careers in both Life Sciences/Biomedical Sciences and the Chinese Medicine industry. The majority are employed as:

• Chinese Medicine Physicians (subject to passing the Singapore Chinese Medicine Practitioners’ Board Exam)• Management & Administration in Healthcare organizations and clinics.

Others are currently pursuing higher degree (Masters) in Chinese Medicine or research as PhD students at local universities.

• QC control officer, LONZA Biologics.• Business Analyst, Terrapinn business media Pte Ltd.• Executive Officer, Pharmaceutical division, Economic Development Board (EDB).• Senior Manager, A*STAR.• Senior Executive, Singapore Tourism Board (STB).• Environmental Health Executive, National Environment Agency (NEA).• And more….......
