Frequently Asked Questions Is there a maximum or minimum number of students per presentation? • We have a minimum of 300 students per presentation

and no maximum. How many presentations can be given in a day? • We can give up to three presentations in a day, but do

our best to limit the stress on our animals.

Katherine has always had a passion for animals and people, and has combined the two by training animal lovers to properly handle exotic animals and teach the public about Barn Hill’s animal ambassadors. She recruits, trains, and schedules Barn Hill’s interns and employees, keeps the facility running smoothly, and handles the animals’ basic vet care and upkeep, Katherine is currently a member of Louisiana State University’s Vet School Class of 2018, and she plans to pursue a career working with avian and exotic species after graduating.!

Gabe has been a life long animal enthusiast and has always dreamed of opening a preserve. After rehabilitating wildlife in a remote area of Costa Rica, he decided to make his dream into a reality. Leslie majored in animal science at Louisiana State University. While attending school, she worked at Wings of Hope, where she first met Gabe. Together they founded the Barn Hill Preserve. Gabe and Leslie are happily married and recently welcomed their first child, Avery Hart. !

Morgan grew up in the small town of Ethel, Louisiana. Her older brother Gabe inspired Morgan’s passion to care for animals. She has been with Barn Hill Preserve since its inception in 2012. Morgan spends her time feeding animals and teaching children about our unique animal ambassadors. To Morgan, Barn Hill is a beautiful place filled with loving friends and family.!

Josh is currently studying Wildlife Ecology as a student at Louisiana State University. He grew up in the small town of Bethany Beach on the eastern shores of Delaware. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 18 and was active until moving to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He worked under Dr. Mike Metzier as a Veterinarian Technician for four years where his love for animals took root. Josh’s love and understanding of wildlife continues to grow while working at the Barn Hill Animal Preserve.!!

Event Coordinator

Bailey grew up surrounded by animal enthusiasts. His grandfather worked for the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and inspired Bailey’s love for the environment at a young age. Bailey is currently majoring in Conservation Biology at Louisiana State University. He hopes to spend his life working to preserve our planet’s wildlife. Bailey loves working with Barn Hill because of the loving animals and family atmosphere. !!

Sarah has always loved animals. Ever since she could walk, she was playing with frogs. Sarah grew up with an assortment of animals from dogs to reptiles. She got her first frog when she was in 3rd grade. Sarah loves her job because no two days are ever the same. She gets to travel, meet new people, and educate children. Many students Sarah speaks to may never get to visit a zoo. Not only does she show them exotic animals, they see animals that not all zoos have!!!
