School secretary Irma Vargas always keeps snacks

around. She ate a healthy breakfast of oatmeal and fresh

fruit. “I usually eat healthy in the morning then I enjoy

sweets in the afternoon,” said Vargas.

The , Mr. Areida, has to have his Ritz near by. He

kept them in his drawer. “I bring a snack to work

everyday,” Areida said.

Page 4: School Food

One of CCH’s most athletic girls, Kuntary, loves all sorts of

chips. She kept a whole bunch in her bag just in case she

got hungry after her practice. “I could eat Doritos all day,”

said Kuntary.

While goofing around in class, Austin Slaughter pulls out

his favorite snack, Pop Tarts. His favorite flavor was

strawberry. He keeps them in his backpack or in his pocket.

“Mmmm Pop Tarts!!!” said Austin.

Athletes always need a balance of nutrition to stay fit.

Isaais Jauregui ate fruit, especially oranges, to stay in

shape. “Out of all fruits, I love oranges the most. I love it

because they are very juicy and are full of vitamin C.”

While fooling around with her friends in class, Kristin

Spencer snacked on a pack of gummy worms. She was

usually a healthy eater but she can’t resist gummy worms.

“Gummy worms are fun to eat,” said Kristin.

While working hard, James Paguyo sips a cup of coffee. It

helps him focus while doing paper work and picking up

phone calls. “I can’t imagine starting my day without my

coffee, it’s the only thing that keeps me awake,” said

Paguyo.

CSM Ms. Earnestine carries a hot cup of coffee around

every morning because of the cold. “I love coffees in the

morning. It keeps me warm and awake,” said Earnestine.

One of the funniest teachers, Mr. Wilson mostly snacks on

junk food, but every once in a while he enjoys something

healthy. Bananas, out of all fruit, were his first choice

though. “I feel like a monkey sometimes. Sheesh! I eat a lot

of bananas!” said Wilson.

Early in the morning, Mr. Pelligreeni stops by Starbucks for

his “usual.” He was a regular customer because he visited

on a daily basis. “I drink Starbucks every single morning,

literally. I prefer Starbucks more than any other coffee

brand,” said Pelligreeni.
