Facilities update As mentioned, there has been an unpleasant odour in the administration and prep building of
the school which has become stronger over the last month or so. We are being assisted of by
DET facilities experts to investigate and rectify the source of the odour as quickly as possible.
A School Council representative, Peter and I met yesterday with the team of contractors who
have been to the school to access our situation over the last week. This team is working
alongside DET facilities management team who are overseeing the investigation. We have
discussed an action plan for a more thorough investigation of the building to be carried out;
including extensive air quality testing. The timeline for this complex investigative work is
estimated to take until the end of term. It was therefore very important to settle the 3 prep
classes into other suitable areas of the school for the duration of this investigation. We will
continue to use the air purifiers to assist with the odour and to enhance the air quality in the
administration area during the investigation. When I receive further information on the
situation I will continue to keep the school community informed.
New Portable The new portable is nearly ready for occupancy. It is intended that 2FM & 1W will move in
next week after the handover from Grove Hire and DET. It is a fabulous double classroom
with plenty space and we certainly hope the children and teachers will enjoy their new portable
classroom.
Working Bee - Sunday August 28 -9.30-11.30am A reminder that there is a whole school working bee scheduled this Sunday at 9.30-11.30am
with various tasks to clean up around the school. We hope the weather is favourable so we
complete all of the work scheduled. Thank you to the BAGs team for coordinating this
Working Bee and we hope many families can come along to help.
