Box 123, Montrose 2nd April 2019 Message from the Principal Hi Everyone So much to CELEBRATEIt is always important to take the time to sit back and reflect on the term that has been. What a wonderful start our Foundation students have made to their schooling with the benefits of an extensive transition program really paying off. The calm, nurturing and industrious tone of all classroom settings has been lovely to see and re- flects the work that our students and teachers have invested into the Effective and Engaging classrooms at the start of the year. Learning has been engaging and student focused through our ReadersWorkshop, WritersWork- shop and Ymer Maths models. Parents have also had the opportunity through our Parent/Teacher Interview to touch base with teachers and gain feedback on their childs progress to date. Term 1 has provided us with so many extracurricu- lar opportunities too, such as: World Maths Olym- piad, District/Regional Swimming, Foundation Teddy Bearspicnic evening, Twilight Fair, First Aid in schools program, Community walks, Grade 5 Exploration day at Yarra Hills S.C, Mont De Lanc- ey excursion, Chess demo lessons, Grade 6 camp, Foundation Cultural Infusion, House Athletics, Grade 6 Round Robin Sports day, Kirkbrae visits and still to come we have our Easter morning tea, JSC Shrine visit and District tennis event. A fun and highly productive term has taken place and it is now time to slow the pace, take a family break and reflect on your personal successes over the term. Thank you to all of the Montrose Prima- ry School community – students, families and staff, for all you have given. Message from the Principal

Hi Everyone

So much to CELEBRATE… It is always important to take the time to sit back and reflect on the term that has been. What a wonderful start our Foundation students have made to their schooling with the benefits of an extensive transition program really paying off. The calm, nurturing and industrious tone of all classroom settings has been lovely to see and re-flects the work that our students and teachers have invested into the Effective and Engaging classrooms at the start of the year. Learning has been engaging and student focused through our Readers’ Workshop, Writers’ Work-shop and Ymer Maths models. Parents have also had the opportunity through our Parent/Teacher Interview to touch base with teachers and gain feedback on their child’s progress to date. Term 1 has provided us with so many extracurricu-lar opportunities too, such as: World Maths Olym-piad, District/Regional Swimming, Foundation Teddy Bears’ picnic evening, Twilight Fair, First Aid in schools program, Community walks, Grade 5 Exploration day at Yarra Hills S.C, Mont De Lanc-ey excursion, Chess demo lessons, Grade 6 camp, Foundation Cultural Infusion, House Athletics, Grade 6 Round Robin Sports day, Kirkbrae visits … and still to come we have our Easter morning tea, JSC Shrine visit and District tennis event. A fun and highly productive term has taken place and it is now time to slow the pace, take a family break and reflect on your personal successes over the term. Thank you to all of the Montrose Prima-ry School community – students, families and staff, for all you have given. Happy holidays and don’t forget end of term finish time is this Friday 5th April 2:30pm

Do you love to wrap gifts? Help the children pick a gift? See their smile when they choose mum the "perfect gift"? We are looking for a new champion for the annual Mother's Day Stall. The purchasing has al-ready been completed for 2019, so half the job is done. Are you keen to take over the ropes? It's not an onerous task leading the Mother's Day Stall, but one we need a new champion for. The current champion is able to show you how it's been done the last few years, then it's yours to amend to suit your skills! Priscilla is happy to chat to anyone interested before you commit, so please contact [email protected] and then we can get you in touch. With thanks—Montrose Primary Parents Club
