fleet of Tall Ships to take part in a colourful four day festival of culture and entertainment across the city. The event will be held on Wednesday 11

The majestic vessels will congregate in the River Wear and Port of Sunderland as they prepare to embark on the race covering over three hundrednautical miles to Esbjerg in Denmark, a cruise in company to Norway, calling at the coastal city of Stavanger, then undertaking the final leg of the2018 Races to the beautiful city of Harlingen in the Netherlands.
The four day event in Sunderland will be spread across four main event zones - Sunderland Port, Town Moor and East End, St Peter’s Campus andthe Seafront. St Peter’s Campus will be a hub of creative, cultural and heritage based activities and will be home to our family and schools marquee. Our school engagement programme is jam packed with offers for primary and secondary pupils, both leading up to and during the event – perfectfor an end of term summer trip!
