DISCUSSION:

The Rosetta Stone online program supports beginning to intermediate English Language Learners in the acquisition of the English language. The program will provide 24 hour online access to students at all levels to help close the achievement gap for English Language Learners in Brevard County. The Title III federal grant will fund the purchase of the copyrighted materials from Rosetta Stone to meet the needs of English Language Learners in acquiring academic language in accordance with the No Child Left Behind Law. The cost will include the training, online access for teachers and lincenses for 350 students. The online program is copyrighted by Rosetta Stone and is not available from any other source. CONTRACT TERM:

The contract term shall commence August 27, 2014 and continue through August 26, 2015. RECOMMENDATION:

It is the recommendation of Melissa Catechis, Director of Student Services and staff, to approve the attached agreement for the purchase of the copyrighted materials needed for full implementation of the Rosetta Stone Language Learning Standard for English Language Learners for an amount not to exceed $21,895.00.
