Scholarship scams exist: Many scholarship applicants come from the poorest nations,

poorest communities and poorest families.

Believe it or not, there are people who will seek to exploit

scholarship seekers and defraud scholarship seekers for what

little money they have.

This presentation offers 4 tips that you should NEVER DO.

Beware:“We will write your

scholarship application for you”

NEVER PAY A FEE TO ANY PERSON OR COMPANY THAT OFFERS TO PREPARE YOUR APPLICATION.

For a fee $$$$$, of course.

Why not?

Most scholarship applications are not successful.

Can you really afford to pay $150 each time for 10 or more applications?

Those who seek to profit from disadvantaged scholarship seekers are more likely to be unethical, dishonest people who cannot be trusted with your money. They might copy your application letter from the internet or disappear after you pay them.

Never provide your credit card detailsAny unofficial scholarship application support agency that asks

for these details is probably a scammer:

● A copy of your birth certificate and/or passport or the details on these documents

● Your credit card details

● Your bank account details

● Copies of other identity documents such as your driver’s licence

● Copies of your academic transcripts and degrees.

You can provide these details to the university, college or government authority yourself.

Beware of identity theft.

Claim “We are the only company that can help you”Beware of companies that make claims such as:

WE ARE THE ONLY COMPANY/PERSON THAT HAS A LIST OF THE

SCHOLARSHIPS THAT MATCH YOUR DETAILS. IF YOU DO NOT PAY US A FEE TO

SUPPORT YOU, YOU WILL NEVER LEARN WHAT SCHOLARSHIPS EXIST FOR YOU.

“You have been randomly selected as winner”Beware of people and companies that make claims such as:

WE HAVE BEEN SEARCHING THE INTERNET AND SEE THAT YOUR DETAILS ARE

THE BEST PERSON FOR A SCHOLARSHIP WE ARE OFFERING.

LIAR, LIAR. PANTS ON FIRE..

Scholarships are never randomly given away to lucky winners.

One of the many examples of this scam is as follows. They will charge you an application

and processing fee of $100 to award you a cash scholarship that does not even exist.

The scammer will not be traceable after you pay your application fee.

NEVER PAY AN APPLICATION OR PROCESSING FEE FOR ANY SCHOLARSHIP
