TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Scholarship offered is for 2019 intakes only.

2. All 2019 scholarships are applicable for studies at Taylor's in Malaysia only and are not applicable

for period of study at overseas partner universities (except for Global Mobility semester).

3. The scholarship is a fee waiver; it is not exchangeable for cash, is non-transferable and non-

refundable.

4. All SPM subjects are taken into consideration except for 1119 (GCE-O) and Accounting LCCI.

5. The scholarship does not cover fees such as the International Student Annual Fee, EMGS Visa

Application Fee, International Student Charge Hospitalisation and Surgical Insurance Fee, EMGS

Renewal Fee or any other Visa-related Fee.

6. If forecast/trial/mid-term results are used in the application, the actual results must meet the

minimum course entry requirements as stipulated by Taylor’s. In the event that the student fails

to meet the minimum course entry requirements, they are required to leave the programme &

their scholarship offer will be revoked.

7. Students are entitled to only ONE type of bursary / scholarship / waiver / discount at any one

time including sponsorship from other institutions / bodies. The one with the highest quantum

will automatically apply.

8. If the scholarship offer is not accepted by the stipulated date, it will automatically be withdrawn

and no longer deemed valid.

9. Should recipient defer to 2020 intake, the scholarship shall be revoked.

10. A scholarship offer is valid in the standard duration of the stipulated course and is non-

transferable at Taylor's University/ Taylor's College unless with written permission.

11. The scholarship ONLY covers subjects enrolled for the first time (first attempt). NOT for repeat

subjects.

12. Scholarship recipients understands and accepts the responsibility of being an exemplary student

ambassador for Taylor's. They must recognise that their behaviour and general conduct must, at

all times, be above reproach, comply with all existing rules, regulations, requirements and

policies of Taylor's. They should not be involved, engaged in or participate in any political, illegal

or unlawful activity as a recipient of the scholarship.

13. All full scholarship recipients are required to join Scholar’s Club during the duration of their

scholarship and fulfill required participations as stated in the club recruitment form.

14. Upon accepting this scholarship, the recipient is deemed to have accepted all terms and

conditions stipulated. Recipient also agrees to indemnify and hold Taylor’s harmless of and from

any and all demands, claims, liabilities or actions of any kind whatsoever.

15. In the event that the recipient withdraws from the programme, is suspended or terminated by

Taylor’s University/ College at any point of rime, before the completion of the programme, the

scholarship shall be automatically terminated. However should the recipient withdraw from the

programme due to medical reasons, his/her scholarship may be retained, subject to absolute

discretion of Taylor’s University/ College.

16. All scholarships, bursaries and study grants offered by Taylor’s University / College to any

students are at the absolute discretion of Taylor’s University / College. All applications must be

received by the stipulated deadlines. Late applications will not be considered.

17. Taylor’s University / College reserves the right to reject incomplete application forms. This

includes applications without required attachments.

18. All decisions by Taylor’s University / College are final and no further appeals shall be entertained.

19. Taylor’s University/ College reserves the right to involve the scholarship recipients in interviews,

advertisement, photography or any other publicity related activities.

20. The terms and conditions of scholarships may be modified and amended from time to time as

1. All awards offered are for students that register for 2019 Undergraduate intake by the respective intake closing date.

2. Awards are given on a first come first serve basis.

3. Transferring students are only allowed for lower level to higher level programme or starting from semester 1 without any credit transfer (credit transfer for Diploma student to join Degree is acceptable, given that their Degree course is at least 2 years long).

4. Excellence Award shall be in the form of tuition fee waiver & is not exchangeable for cash, non-transferable and non-refundable.

5. Excellence Award is applicable for all Malaysian students or International students that holds academic result from any institution in Malaysia.

6. Actual/Forecast/Trial/Mid-term result will be considered.


8. Recipients must meet the minimum programme entry requirements and the award requirements as stipulated by Taylor’s University/College for their chosen programmes.

TAYLOR’S POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP & BURSARY 2019


1. All scholarships offered are for year 2019 intakes only.

2. Should an accepted recipient defer to the next academic year, the scholarship offered will not be applicable & the scholarship shall be revoked. We refer High Achiever’s Scholarship as “HA-Scholarship” hence forward.

3. Shall a student intends to join 2020 intake, he/she should then refer to the 2020 scholarship scheme when it is made available.

4. HA-Scholarship shall be in the form of fee waiver & is not exchangeable for cash, non-transferable and non-refundable.

5. Application shall be submitted based on actual results.

6. Recipients of HA-Scholarship agree to be interviewed and have their profile publicized for the purpose of advocating the good name of Taylor’s University and quality of the programme registered.

7. The HA-Scholarship is only applicable to the modules enrolled for the first time during the minimum duration of the programme. The scholarship does not cover any bridging course or any additional modules required prior to enrollment of modules required for the programme, if applicable.

8. Students who repeat or re-sit modules will need to pay for additional charges incurred as per the current fees schedule.

9. Students approved with the HA-Scholarship at admission can defer their study intake before the commencement of the intake approved. However, whether the HA-Scholarship is carried forward to the subsequent intake is subject to discretion of Taylor’s University Management.

10. Taylor’s University reserves the right to vary, amend and/or change any aspect of this scholarship (including but not limited to cancelling and/or discontinuing the scholarship) or any part of the Terms and Conditions without prior notice.

11. Students are entitled to only ONE type of bursary / scholarship / waiver / discount at any one time including sponsorship from other institutions / bodies. The one with the highest quantum will automatically apply.

12. For HA-Scholarship recipients, this scholarship disbursement will cease in the event that they accept any external scholarship.

13. Taylor’s University reserves the right to reject incomplete application forms.

14. All scholarships offered by Taylor’s University to any students are at the absolute discretion of Taylor’s University and no further appeals shall be entertained.

15. A scholarship offer is valid for the duration of the stipulated programme and cannot be transferred to any other programmes at Taylor’s University unless with written permission from the University.

16. All 2019 scholarships are applicable for studies at Taylor's University in Malaysia only and are not applicable for period of study at overseas partner universities.

17. Applicants are required to complete application for their chosen programme prior to applying for scholarship.

18. Student understands and accepts the responsibility of being a good and exemplary student ambassador to Taylor’s University, and recognizes that student's behavior and general conduct must at all times be above reproach, comply with all existing rules, regulations, requirements and policies of Taylor’s University, not to be involved, engaged in or participate in any political, illegal or unlawful activity while a student at Taylor’s University.

19. Taylor’s University reserves the right to disqualify/revoke the scholarship if there is evidence that the student tampered with or benefited from the act of tampering with any Terms and Conditions stated herein.

1. This scholarship is open for candidates who apply for intakes in the year 2019. Should a

student defer to the following year, this scholarship scheme may not be available.

2. Should a student defer intake from the one for which offered with a scholarship, the

scholarship shall be revoked. However, the student may still proceed with admission to

the programme in the next intake.

3. Applicant must be below 45 years of age at the time of application.

4. The applicant is required to go through an evaluation process.

5. The student must have secured an offer letter of admission from Taylor’s University.

6. All scholarships, bursaries and study grants offered by Taylor’s University to students are

at the absolute discretion of Taylor’s University and availability of funds.

7. Students are entitled to only ONE of the scholarships OR bursaries offered by Taylor’s

University. The one with the highest quantum will automatically apply if the student

does not notify his / her intent.

8. Scholarships, bursaries, study grants shall be in the form of a full or partial fee waiver.

These are neither exchangeable for cash nor transferable

9. This scholarship applies to studies at Taylor's University in Malaysia only and is not

applicable to studies at overseas partner universities.

10. All decisions by Taylor’s University are final, and no further appeals shall be entertained.

11. Upon enrolling at Taylor’s University, the student is deemed to have accepted all terms

& conditions stipulated in the Taylor’s University Student Handbook. By accepting this

scholarship, the student agrees to indemnify and hold Taylor’s University harmless of

and from any demands, claims, liabilities or actions of any kind whatsoever.

12. Student's behaviour and general conduct must be exemplary at all times, complying with

all existing rules, regulations, requirements and policies of Taylor’s University. The

student should not involve/engage/participate in any political, illegal or unlawful activity

throughout study candidature at Taylor’s University.

13. Students are required to complete their Research Methodology modules, satisfactorily

progress in every semester and fulfil the milestones stipulated for scholarship recipients.

Failing to fulfil these requirements, the University reserves the right to terminate the

scholarship awarded to the student.

14. All scholarship recipients are expected to attend Research Skills Training and participate

in thesis seminar sessions organised by the Centre for Higher Degrees by Research

(CHDR).

15. All full-time scholarship recipients shall undergo Teaching Assistants Programme

organised by TED / Intellect before proposal defence examination.

16. Full-time scholarship students who are receiving a monthly stipend must commit five

hours per week to the faculty that they are attached.

17. There is NO bond of service upon completion of the programme
