January 10, 2015

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter of recommendation for John Schofield, who was a student in my Marketing

Management class during the fall semester at Westfield State University.

Throughout the semester, John’s assignments and tasks were always completed on schedule. In

itself, this may sound routine. What makes it a professor’s dream is that the organization of his

thoughts, the depth of his analysis and the creativity of his thinking were refreshing, innovative and

profound. It quickly became evident that John was not simply looking for an “A” or going through

the motions, but is a true life-long learner who, while learning, adds to the field of knowledge and

who, not only soaks up facts and concepts, but pulls in his life experiences to enrich the outcome of

any project that he is tackling.

The nature of my teaching style often requires a strong leader who has the ability to work in teams

and to communicate effectively. As you might expect, John is the consummate player,

shouldering his fair share, while enhancing the experience for all.

John has extensive work experience, as well as a stellar academic record. He is a role model

for peers and younger students. This further is enhanced by his level of confidence coupled with an

inquisitive nature that keeps him striving to learn across many disciplines. I can vouch, having

worked in restaurant settings similar to those that John did at Cornell’s Irish Pub and the Golden

Spoon (which I have frequented, often), that he is an experienced multi-tasker, attentive to

deadlines, with a healthy respect for customer-centered operations. John is also attentive to detail, as

exemplified in his work at TD Bank.

I heartily and without reservation recommend John as he will add valuable skills and knowledge to

your team and am happy to answer any questions you may have about him. I can be reached at 413-

548-0376.

Thank you, beforehand, for your time.

Sincerely,

Thomas M. Waskiewicz, Business Faculty
