The Indian government had announced the National Ayush Mission (NAM) in 2014, under which naturopathy and yoga-based treatment will be made available in the rural areas. The government had provided its approval for almost 161 such wellness centres across the country. The National Ayush Mission (NAM) is being administered by the Ministry of Ayush that will provide grants and aids to the state governments. This will be done as per the State Annual Action Plan (SAAP) of the respective states. As of now, the government does not plan to spread the whole programme across the country. However, there is a provision that such centres can be set up in primary health centres (PHC), district hospitals, and community health centres (CHCs).

The objective of "reducing the birth rate to the extent necessary to stabilise the population at a level consistent with the requirement of the National economy. The Family Welfare Programme in India is recognised as a priority area, and is being implemented as a 100% centrally sponsored programme. Renamed as national family welfare program in 1977. Urban Family Welfare Scheme - This Scheme was introduced
following the recommendation of the Krishnan Committee in 1983. The
main focus was to provide services through setting up of Health Posts
mainly in slum areas. The services provided are mainly outreach of RCH
services, preventive services, First Aid and referral services including
distribution of contraceptives.
Sterilization Beds Scheme - A Scheme for reservation of Sterilization
beds in Hospital sun by Government, Local Bodies and Voluntary
Organisations was introduced as early as in the year 1964 in order to
provide immediate facilities for tubectomy operations in hospitals where
such cases could not be admitted due to lack of beds etc. But later with the
introduction of the Post Partum Programme some of the beds were
transferred to Post Partum Programme and thereafter the beds were only
sanctioned to hospitals sun by Local Bodies and Voluntary Organisations.
Reproductive and Child Health Programme - The Reproductive and
Child Health Programme was launched in October 1997 incorporating new
approach to population and development issues, as exposed in the
International Conference in Population and Development held at Cairo in
1994.The programme integrated and strengthened in
services/interventions under the Child Survival and Safe Motherhood

Remote Village Electrification Programme
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India is implementing this programme for providing financial support for electrification of those remote unelectrified census villages and un-electrified hamlets of electrified census villages where grid-extension is either not feasible or not cost effective and are not covered under Rajiv Gandhi GrameenVidyutikaranYojana. Such villages are provided basic facilities for electricity / lighting through various renewable energy sources. Small Hydro Power Generation systems, biomass gasification based electricity generation systems, solar photovoltaic power plants, etc., in distributed power generation mode may be used depending upon the availability of resources for generation of required electricity. Accelerated Rural Electrification Program (AREP)
The AREP, operational since 2002, provides an interest subsidy of 4% to states for RE programs. The AREP covers electrification of un-electrified villages and household electrification and has an approved outlay of Rs. 560 crore under the 10thPlan. Minimum Needs Program (MNP)
The MNP, exclusively targeted states with less than 65% rural electrification (by the old definition) provides 100% loans for last mile connectivity. The program resources are drawn from the Central Plan Assistance. Rs. 775 crore was released during 2001-03 for rural electrification under the MNP. KutirJyoti Program (KJP)
KJP was initiated in 1988-89 to provide single point light connection (60 w) to all Below Poverty Line (BPL) households in the country. PradhanMantriGramodayaYojna (PMGY)
