While the American Cancer Society is making progress toward a world without cancer, only with your dedi- cation and fundraising efforts can we finish the fight against the disease. With your help, we aren’t just fight- ing one type of cancer – we’re fighting for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. Each person who shares the Relay For Life experience can take pride in knowing that they are working to create a world where this disease will no longer threaten our loved ones or rob anyone of another birthday. Research... For more than 65 years, the American Cancer Society has been finding answers that save lives - from changes in lifestyle to new approaches in therapies to improving cancer patients' quality of life. No single nongovernmental, not-for-profit organization in the US has invested more to find the causes and cures of cancer. The Society's efforts have contributed to a 22 percent decline in cancer death rates in the US during the past two decades. 2017 HONORARY CHAIRS: Ruth Bot, Dr. Carrie Sueker, and the family of Leann Klien Friday, June 16, 2017 Opening Ceremony • 7:00 p.m. * Welcome * Presentation of Colors - American Legion Honor Guard * National Anthem - The Note Gallery * Opening Prayer - Pastor Dave Christianson, Living Word Lutheran Church * Mission Moment - Betsy Jo Kack * Message from our sponsor - Jessica Moriarty, CNP, Avera Cancer Institute, Avera Marshall * Corporate Sponsor Recognition - Marcia Klaith * Message from Honorary Chairs -Ruth Bot, Dr. Carrie Sueker and the family of Leann Klein * Live Auction by Deutz Auctioneers - Chuck Deutz * Survivor Introduction - Mary Jo Bossuyt and Jackie Doom * Survivor/Caregiver Lap * Lighting of Candles 8:30-9:30 p.m.: * Musical Performances by Matt Christianson 9:30-10:30 p.m.: * Illusionist Jett Skrien Celebration Ceremony Midnight: * Thank You * Team Totals * Top Campsite Decoration * Total Money Raised * Closing Song Time..............................................Activity/Entertainment/Location 4:30 p.m. ................................................Cancer Survivor Registration 4:30-9:00 p.m.......................................................................Kids’ Area 5:00-6:30 p.m. ....................Survivor, Caregiver & Community Picnic 5:00-9:30 p.m.................................................................Silent Auction 6:00-7:00 p.m..............
