Lowell - TLRCTuesday April 15, 2014 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Team-Based Learning is an “easy-to-implement” strategy for classroomcollaboration.

It: • Creates community within the classroom immediately and for theduration of the semester;

• Motivates students to "do the reading" by due dates;• Focuses student groups on their work and eliminates “slackers”; and• Provides you with the experience of watching and listening to groupsof your students discussing, debating, and even arguing about coursecontent during class time!

• TBL allows me to focus mini-lectures on material that students needfurther clarification with, rather than lecturing on their assignedreading, which only teaches them that they don’t need to do thatreading.
