HORSES IN ACTIONThe Horses in Action competition comprises horses and ponies which are divided into Show Horse, Show Hunter and Carriage Driving competitions. Horses are judged on conformation, presentation, manners and paces within their field. Show horses should have a fine bone conformation, show hunters should be a pleasant ride and carriage driving is the discipline of horses working with either two or four wheeled carriages presenting an elegant spectacle. A win at the IGA Perth Royal Show opens the door for a Show Horse or Show Hunter to compete at a National Championship.

The RASWA member discount will only be allowed if the member and owner are one and the same. The discount can only be redeemed by the exhibiting owner. Partial owners and family members do not qualify for the discount.

GENERAL SHOW REGULATIONS The Society’s General Show Regulations and Section

Conditions regulate the conduct of the Show. Upon acceptance of an entry, the Exhibitor is irrevocably contracted to be bound by those General Show Regulations and Section Conditions. A copy of the Society’s General Show Regulations may be

obtained on application or from the website http://perthroyalshow.com.au/general-regulations/ An Exhibitor who breaches any General Show Regulation or Section Condition may be disqualified, or suspended for any period, fined or otherwise penalised. The Society may publish to: a) all Royal Show Societies in Australia; b) the relevant Breed Society; and c) the body with which the exhibit is registered, or is

eligible for registration, the result of any proceedings before the Disciplinary Committee in which a Person has been found to have breached any General Show Regulation or Section Condition. The Society may recognise and act upon any penalty imposed by any other similar society, organisation or body in Australia on any Person or exhibit. WITHDRAWAL OF EXHIBIT BY THE SOCIETY The Society may at its sole discretion, withdraw, reject or disqualify an exhibit. Upon notification by the Society the Owner/Exhibitor of the exhibit must immediately remove such exhibit from the Showground. Refer also to the Society’s

General Show Regulation 3.18. If an exhibit is not collected or removed by the Owner/Exhibitor, the Society may, at its sole discretion, dispose of the exhibit in a manner it determines. PRIZE MONEY RASWA has a policy whereby all prize money is paid by EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer). Your banking details will be kept secure and can only be used by RASWA to credit your bank account. Please complete your account details on the entry form even if you have provided them previously. Failure to provide your bank details will mean that any prize money you earn will be forfeited and retained by RASWA. Furthermore, you acknowledge your agreement to the following: • The Society will issue you a tax invoice in respect of the

successful Exhibit; • You are requested not to issue a tax invoice to the

Society in respect to prize money received; • It will be necessary for you to notify the Society if you

cease to be registered for GST; and • The Society will notify you if it ceases to satisfy any of

the requirements of the determinations.

If you provide your ABN but are not registered for GST, the Society will pay the prize money as detailed in the prize schedule. If you are a business Exhibitor and do not provide your ABN to the Society, 47% tax will be deducted from your prize money under the ATO PAYG provisions. If you confirm that you are entering as part of a private recreational pursuit or hobby, the Society will pay the prize money as detailed in the prize schedule. Payment of prize money: In all classes, prize money will be paid based on the details in the financial name section of the entry form. If a horse/pony competes in an event for which it has not been nominated and is awarded a prize, such prize money and ribbons will be forfeited. Prize money as stated in the schedule does not include GST. The prize money which the Society pays to successful Exhibitors (“you”) depends on the information that you provide to the Society. If you confirm that you are GST registered and provide your Australian Business Number (ABN) the Society will pay the appropriate prize money plus 10% GST. The Society will provide to you a Recipient Created Tax Invoice (RCTI) within 28 days of the day you were successful at your event (subject to receiving full clearance from all swabs taken during the Show), detailing the GST which you will need to submit to the Australian Tax Office (ATO). If any adjustments need to be made, the Society will issue an adjustment note to you within 28 days of the adjustment. Upon entry into the competition and completion and signing of the application form, this form will become a RCTI agreement as required under Goods and Services Tax Act 1999. AWARDS The Society will not be responsible for awards not received by Exhibitors after 31 December 2018. If you have not received your award by the 30 November 2018 please contact the Awards Officer on 6263 3100. SOCIETY’S LIABILITY The Society shall not be liable for any damages, costs, claims, expenses or liabilities arising from the rejection or disqualification of an exhibit. The attention of Exhibitors is drawn to the General Show Regulation 17, Liability and Indemnity, with reference to the Society’s liability. SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY All personnel engaged by the Royal Agricultural Society of WA (RASWA) are bound by RASWA’s Social Media Policy

(https://www.perthroyalshow.com.au/social-media-policy/) and are required to use social media in a positive manner and with the best intentions. • Whether posting on a public or private page or group,

please present in a suitable and respectful manner of RASWA, Perth Royal Show and the Claremont Showground.

• Be mindful of posting/discussing subjects that may inflame someone’s emotions. Please show respect for

others’ opinions and be courteous always. • Do not post personal information about yourself or

others, confidential or non-public information, offensive or negative comments.

If anyone is found to have made comments that are deemed unreasonable or derogatory, action will be taken by RASWA to ensure all parties are protected, and inappropriate use reprimanded. PROMOTION No advertising or promotion on behalf of commercial business will be permitted on the Showground without the prior written consent of the Society’s Chief Executive Officer. PRIVACY ACT STATEMENT The information provided by the Exhibitor in the application for entry is collected and used by the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RASWA) to organise and conduct competitions at the Show. We may publish details such as your name, address and exhibit details in any RASWA publication or communication. Such information may also be made available to, and published by, the media. We will not disclose your information without your consent for any other purpose unless required or authorised by law. You may request access to your personal information and, if necessary, request that our records of that information be corrected by writing to the Chief Executive Officer at the Royal Agricultural Soceity of Western Australia, PO Box 135, Claremont WA 6910.

SECTION CONDITIONS 1. RISK WARNING

PLEASE NOTE THAT EQUESTRIAN ACTIVITIES ARE DANGEROUS AND THAT ACCIDENTS CAUSING DEATH, INJURY, DISABILITY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE, CAN, AND DO OCCUR.

2. ALCOHOL 2.1 Alcohol consumption on the Showground other than

in licensed or designated areas approved by the Society is prohibited. This includes the stable and locker area of the Equestrian Complex.

3. SMOKING 3.1 The Show is a smoke free event. Smoking is not

permitted within any section of the Equestrian Complex. Smoking areas are available in Private and Hardy Roads.

4. CONDITIONS FOR ENTRY 4.1 Liability and Indemnity: Lodgment of an entry form

is deemed to be acknowledgement by the Exhibitor of his or her agreement that persons entering events do so at their own risk (Refer to the Society’s General Show Regulation 17, Liability and Indemnity).

4.1.1 Exhibit: For the purpose of these Section Conditions the word “exhibit” shall include a horse, pony or

donkey entered in the Horse Section. 4.1.2 Exhibitor: Means the person in whose name the entry

is lodged. 4.1.3 Judge, Exhibitor Business Dealings: No

Exhibitors/handler may show an exhibit in a ring (other than a jumping ring) officiated by a Judge where:

1. that exhibit was bred by, purchased or leased from

the Judge or his or her immediate family within the 12 months preceding the date of competition; or

2. has been employed by the Judge at any time in the 12 month period prior to; or

3. the Judge has conducted any business transactions within the 12 months preceding the date of competition involving the Exhibitor, or the owner or part owner of an animal exhibited by the Exhibitor at the current competition; unless the Councillor in Charge has provided written authorisation to do so on the basis of the incidental or minor nature of the business.

4.1.4 JUDGES NAMES WILL BE POSTED ON THE

RASWA WEBSITE AS SOON AS THEY ARE CONFIRMED.

4.2 Parent/Legal Guardian Responsibility: Where an

Exhibitor, rider/driver, passenger, attendant or any other participant is 17 years of age and under, the parent or legal guardian must accept responsibility on behalf of the Exhibitor, rider/driver, passenger, attendant or any other participant for the purpose of the Show and must read and sign the enclosed disclaimer statement form. Refer to special note “Indemnity if Exhibitor is 17 years of age and under”

on the entry form and to the enclosed disclaimer statement.

4.3 Dress: Competitors participating in all events must

wear the approved attire for the Section in which they are competing.

4.3.1 Strappers and attendants who lead horses/ponies

onto the Main Arena must be appropriately attired as outlined in each section or must wear a white dust coat, provided by the Exhibitor. Protective leather footwear (not joggers) must be worn. Attendants wearing a dust coat will not be allowed to enter the judging ring.

4.3.2 White Dust Coats: A limited number of coats will be

available to purchase from the Armband Office for $40.00 each. NO coats will be available to hire.

4.4 Nominations: 4.4.1 The Society reserves the right to accept any

nomination, which in its opinion warrants inclusion in the Show. The Society, without giving a reason for doing so, may also reject or disqualify an exhibit.

4.4.2 Any Exhibitor giving a wrong description or false information of his or her exhibit may be disqualified from exhibiting from this or any future Perth Royal Show.

4.4.3 Appeals Against Refusal of Nominations:

Exhibitors shall have the right of appeal against the Society’s decision providing the appeal is lodged in writing within 14 days of the dispatch of notification.

4.4.4 Registration of Exhibits: No horse/pony may

compete unless it is registered in a recognised Studbook, Breed Society, Equestrian Australia (EA), Show Horse Council (SHC) or Australian Carriage Driving Society (ACDS).

4.4.5 No exhibit may be presented with markings that vary

from its registration papers. 4.4.6 A photocopy of each exhibit’s registration

certificate must accompany each entry form. Failure to present registration certificates by 10 August 2018 will result in the return of entries.

4.4.7 Exhibitors must supply on their entry forms all the

information called for in each and every instance, otherwise their entries will not be accepted and will be returned.

4.4.8 Restrictions on Number of Entries: Any Exhibitor

entering more than one (1) animal in a class may be requested by the Society to withdraw their additional entries, thereby limiting their entries to one (1) exhibit per class. This notification will be advised no later than Wednesday 22 August 2018. This will only occur if there are excess entries.

4.4.9 Transfer of Events: After the close of entries, the

Society reserves the right to transfer events from one day to another or cancel an event due to lack of entries.

4.5 Presentation: 4.5.1 All horse/ponies/donkeys are to be clean and

presented according to the section in which they are competing.

4.5.2 Registered Approved Identifiers: All

horses/ponies/donkeys competing at the 2018 IGA Perth Royal Show must be visibly branded with a registered freeze or fire brand, microchipped or identified by a method approved by the relevant Society. Registered horses that are microchipped or identified under breed, EA, SHC or ACDS rules should always be accompanied by a copy of the official registration documents detailing the identifying marks on the individual exhibit and microchip number.

4.6 Insurance: The Owner/Exhibitor is responsible for the

Insurance of his or her exhibit whilst the exhibit is on the Society’s Showground.

4.7 Refund of Entry Fees: 4.7.1 Refunds will be given for entries where the Society

has excess entries in a section or class and is unable to accommodate them.

4.7.2 Horse Exhibitors may apply for a refund of entry

fee for a horse/pony that has, prior to the

commencement of competition at the Perth Royal

Show, become seriously ill, injured or has died, or

prior to the close of entries has been sold. The

application requires a submission of a Veterinary

Certificate, or Proof of Sale and is subject to

approval of both the Councillor in Charge and the

Manager - Competitions, Events and Education.

Application for this refund will need to be made

within seven (7) days of the issue of the Veterinary

Certificate or Proof of Sale. 5. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES 5.1 Arrival: Exhibitors are to arrive no earlier than 6.00pm

on the evening before judging. 5.2 Admission Tickets: Exhibitors will be issued tickets

for admission to the Showground on the following number of horses/ponies entered on each day. Tickets are issued automatically on the allocation of a stable.

• 1 or 2 horses/ponies stabled per day 2 tickets • 3 or 4 horses/ponies stabled per day 3 tickets • 5 or more horses/ponies stables per day 1 ticket

per horse/pony 5.3 Additional single-entry tickets may be purchased prior

to the Show by submitting the enclosed application for admission ticket form no later than 3 September 2018. E-tickets will be forwarded to the email address submitted on the form.

5.4 Departure: 5.4.1 Livestock Release Authority: No exhibit will be

permitted to leave the Showground without a livestock release authority form signed by an Armband Office staff member.

5.4.2 Exhibits may not be removed from the horse lines until

after the Grand Parade unless ordered by the Ringmaster, or on the advice of the Veterinarian. A livestock release authority will still be required, prior to your departure from the Showground.

5.4.3 Stables are to be left clean and will be inspected prior

to the issue of a livestock release authority form. 6. ENTRY AND EXIT ROUTES 6.1 Arrivals: Exhibitors in horse classes will only be

admitted to the Showground on production of a “single”, “multi entry” or “email” ticket. Tickets will be

issued to Exhibitors prior to the commencement of the Show.

6.2 Entry Route: Vehicles delivering exhibits will be admitted to the Showground between 5.30am and 9.00pm through Gate 6 off Graylands Road. Proceed to the horse unloading area, when directed by the parking attendant.

6.3 Departures: Departure from the horse unloading area

will be through Private Road to Gate 7, where the livestock release authority will be collected at the gate.

7. PARKING AND SHUTTLE BUS 7.1 Parking for cars with floats and for horse trucks, is

available at the Irwin Army Barracks, Karrakatta. Application can be made by completing the Irwin Barracks parking form and submitted it with the entry form.

7.2 Shuttle Bus: Will run continuously between Irwin

Barracks and the Claremont Showground from 6.00am to 8.00pm Friday 21 September 2018 to Saturday 29 September 2018.

8. STABLING 8.1 Stable Fee: $15.00 per day. Stables can only be

booked for the night previous and the day of competition/judging.

8.2 Overnight stables will be available to incoming

horses/ponies after 6.00pm on the evening prior to judging.

8.3 Stables allocated are for the horse/pony nominated

and if not so used may be reallocated. Any Exhibitor using stables for any purpose other than stabling of horses/ponies will have their entries cancelled.

8.4 All stallions will be stabled in the Horse Breed stables. 8.4.1 If you have not been allocated a stable for all your

horse/ponies as stated on your stables/locker notification form, please contact the Competition and Event Coordinator prior to the Show, as stables will be re-allocated as withdrawals are received.

8.5 Consideration will be given to applications by country

Exhibitors requiring to be accommodated beyond the days on which they are competing. Application must be made in writing detailing the reason for the request. No guarantee can be given that any request will be granted.

8.6 Stable Bedding: Wood shavings are provided in the

Horses in Action stables. White sand is provided in the Horses Breed stables. No additional bedding types are to be used.

8.7 Feed Bins and Water Containers: Exhibitors will be

required to provide their own feed bins and water containers.

8.8 Hay is permitted but stables and surrounding areas

are to be thoroughly cleaned.

8.9 Stable Cleaning: Exhibitors whose horses/ponies are stabled overnight are responsible for cleaning out their stables daily. Day stables are to be cleaned before departure. Exhibitors failing to comply will be liable to a fine of $100.00 for each and every offence.

8.10 Supervision: Horses/ponies outside their stables

must be supervised and have an attendant on hand at all times.

9. LOCKERS 9.1 Locker Fee: $10.00 per day for a standard locker. 9.2 A limited number of lockers are available. Any

applicant who cannot be accommodated will be notified accordingly. Exhibitors should supply their own locks for lockers.

10. ACCOMMODATION 10.1 Bunks: A deposit of $10.00 is payable for each key

issued. 10.2 It is a privilege, not a right to be offered a bunk on

the Showground. Bunks are allocated on a share

room basis and Exhibitors may be required to

share a room with another Exhibitor. 10.3 Due to the limited number of bunks available, country

Exhibitors travelling the greatest distance will be given preference in the allocation of bunks.

10.4 A maximum of two (2) bunks will be available per

any one (1) exhibit. 10.5 Rooms must be left clean and occupiers must act in a

proper manner at all times. 10.6 Rooms must be vacated by 6.00pm on the last day of

competition. 11. CANCELLATION OF STABLES, LOCKERS AND

ACCOMMODATION 11.1 Because of the limited number of stables, lockers and

bunks available, prompt notification of cancellations must be made.

11.2 Request for refunds on stables, lockers, Irwin

Barracks parking and Private Road facilities fees must be made in writing and received ten (10) days prior to the first day of the Show and considered if the facilities cannot be re-let.

12. CATALOGUES 12.1 Catalogues listing all exhibits entered in each class

may be purchased at a cost of $5.50 and should be ordered and paid for at the time of entry.

12.2 Only a limited number of catalogues will be available

for sale during the Show.

13. MEASUREMENT OF HORSES AND PONIES 13.1 The Society’s official measurers will be in attendance

in the measuring bay on the Showground from 2.30pm to 4.00pm on Thursday 20 September, 6.00am to 12.00pm (noon) Friday 21 September, and from 6.00am to 12.30pm each day until Saturday 29 September. Measurement in the afternoons can be arranged by appointment if neccessary, with the Chief Measurer prior to the closure of the measuring bay.

13.2 All horses/ponies requiring to be measured, must

have all rugs, boots and leg wraps removed. 13.3 All horses/ponies submitted for measuring should

present in a bridle and bit, or in a halter for breeds

that do not require to be bitted and be in the care

of a competent person. The handler must have the

appropriate paperwork in hand and be wearing

enclosed protective footwear. 13.4 The Society reserves the right to have any horse/pony

submitted for re-measurement. 14. MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL 14.1 Ringmaster’s Powers: The determination of the

Ringmaster upon any question or dispute arising in, or which is incidental to the conduct in the Show Ring, or the conduct of any competition, parade, exhibition or event therein, or as to the qualification of any Exhibitor, or as to the proper description of any thing, whether animate or inanimate, shall be final and binding on the Society and upon all Exhibitors and any other persons affected thereby.

14.2 The term “Ringmaster” shall be deemed to include the

Ringmaster, Councillor in Charge (CIC) and Councillors of the Horse Section should either the Ringmaster or the CIC be unavailable.

14.3 No person shall be eligible to compete, if in the opinion

of the Ringmaster, he or she is for any reason whatsoever, unfit to lead, ride or drive.

14.4 Head Gear: Horses/ponies must be equipped with

suitable bridles or halters to facilitate handling at all times.

14.5 Stallions: No stallion or colt shall be lead/driven or

ridden by a person 17 years of age or under. No stallion or colt will be allowed on the Showground without a bridle, halter with bit, or suitable headgear as approved by the governing Society. Showjumping

Stallions must have their green disc. Breed

Stallions and Colts will always need to have their

competition card visible. 14.6 Access to Arena: No horse/pony shall be allowed on

the Main Arena during the Show except for the purpose of competing in its nominated event, Grand Parade or during the authorised exercise period between 6.00am and 8.00am; or at the discretion of the Ringmaster. Exhibitors contravening this condition will be liable to a fine of $100.00 for each offence.

14.7 Age and Competence of Exhibitors:

a) Subject to (b), a person who has not attained the age of 6 years must not ride a horse or pony at a Show (unless otherwise stipulated for a particular class).

b) The Ringmaster may at any time require a person who does not appear to be able to ride or handle a horse to dismount, allow other persons to handle the horse, or leave the judging ring.

c) The age of the person is determined as at the day of commencement of the Show, Friday 21 September 2018.

14.8 Emergency Exit Passages: All laneways in the

McGlew Pavilion are to be “KEPT CLEAR AT ALL

TIMES", this includes all gear and rugs, etc. 15. EXERCISING OF HORSES/PONIES 15.1 The exercise period on the Main Arena is between

6.00am and 8.00am at a walk or trot. Horses may be lunged during this period at the discretion of the Ringmaster or Mounted Stewards.

15.2 During the day horses/ponies may be exercised in the

warm-up arenas provided. 15.3 Horse/ponies may not be lunged in the bottom warm-

up arena. The top warm-up arena is available for lunging.

15.4 The grassed area west of the Horses in Action stable

complex is used for marshalling. Horses/ponies will only be allowed to walk when in this area.

16. DUTY OF CARE TO ANIMALS 16.1 A person who has the care or charge of an animal has

a duty to take all reasonable measures to ensure the welfare of that animal.

16.2 Cruelty: The Royal Agricultural Society of WA will not

tolerate any abuse of horses/ponies at the Show. 17. VETERINARY SERVICES 17.1 A Veterinary Officer will be on call throughout the

Show to provide services to injured or sick livestock. Exhibitors requiring services will be responsible for payment for all services rendered.

17.2 The Veterinary Office and Medication Control Centre

is located at the corner of Edgar Avenue and the cattle lanes.

17.3 The duty Veterinary Office can be contacted from

6.00am to 9.00pm through the Armband Office on 0434 567 967 or 0434 567 911, from Thursday 20 September until Sunday 29 September 2018 at 12.00pm (noon). After 9.00pm on any day please call Asset Services on 6263 3127.

18. DANGEROUS, OBJECTIONABLE OR DISEASED EXHIBITS

18.1 The attention of Exhibitors is drawn to the Society’s

General Show Regulation 4.7 and 4.8, with reference to dangerous, objectionable or diseased exhibits.

19. PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES AND MEDICATION

CONTROL 19.1 It is illegal to utilise any Banned, Prohibited or

Controlled medication. The use of such will result in elimination and other disciplinary actions under the regulations of the governing bodies.

20. GRAND PARADES 20.1 All horses/ponies must participate in the Grand

Parade in accordance with the printed program unless an exemption is authorised by the Ringmaster. Exhibitors must have competent handlers/riders in attendance for this purpose. Carriage Driving Exhibitors are invited to participate.

20.2 Grand Parades will be held at the following times:

• Saturday 22 September 1.00pm • Sunday 23 September 1.00pm • Monday 24 September 1.00pm • Tuesday 25 September 1.00pm • Wednesday 26 September 1.00pm • Thursday 27 September 1.00pm • Friday 28 September 1.00pm • Saturday 29 September 1.00pm

20.3 Regulation 3.25.5 of the General Show Regulations

requires that all livestock exhibits are tractable to the degree that they can participate in parades. If in the opinion of the Councillor in Charge or Ringmaster any animal appears to be dangerous and not under proper control, it must be removed immediately from the Showground.

20.4 Where horses/ponies are entered in both Breed

Section classes and Horses in Action classes, they must parade with their Breed Section.

20.5 Standard of Dress for Riders/Handlers: When

participating in the Grand Parade, riders/handlers must adhere to the standard of dress appropriate to their section including the wearing of the competition number of the Exhibit. A handler may wear a clean dustcoat, but still must wear the exhibits competition number. If riders and handlers are not correctly attired, or the horse/ pony is not suitably presented, the exhibit will not be permitted to participate in the Grand Parade and the Exhibitor will be subject to a fine and forfeiture of any awarded prize money.

20.6 Exemptions: All Exhibitors are reminded that it is part of their obligation as Exhibitors at the Show to parade their animals in the Grand Parade. The Grand Parade is a significant daily event and very popular with the public. It is therefore very important to the Royal Agricultural Society of WA.

20.7 Any Exhibitor wishing to apply for an exemption must

do so by the 22 August 2018 on the appropriate form. NO exemptions will be given on the day without a Veterinary Certificate or First Aid Post Authority form.

20.8 Grand Parade Pass: Grand Parade passes are

included in your Exhibitor pack, collected from the Armband Office with the exhibits competition number. Exhibitors will be required to hand in a Grand Parade Pass as they enter the Main Arena for each Grand Parade and must wear their competition number.

20.9 If any horse/pony is not exhibited in the Grand

Parade without an approved exemption, the Exhibitor will be fined $100.00 and will forfeit any awarded prize money.

20.10 The fine must be paid before the horse/pony or

Exhibitor can participate in another event. 21. JUDGING 21.1 Exhibitors who do not present their horse/pony in the

judging ring at the time of judging will be instructed to remove their horse/pony from the arena.

21.2 If a horse/pony becomes loose during judging it may

be disqualified from the class at the discretion of the Judge.

21.3 Judging Times: Approximate judging times for each

class will be forwarded to Exhibitors with their entry tickets.

21.4 All ribbons are awarded at the discretion of the Judge. 22. CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS 22.1 In making these awards the Judges will only select

from the exhibits which have gained first prizes in eligible classes.

22.2 Under no circumstances may a Judge make equal

championship awards. 22.3 The awarding of Champion and Reserve Champion

awards shall be at the discretion of the Judge. 23. PROTESTS 23.1 An Exhibitor may protest against an award won by an

exhibit, alleging breach of the Society’s General Show

Regulations or Section Conditions or ineligibility. 23.2 A protest must be made in writing, giving reasons for

the protest and signed and submitted to the Ringmasters Office, not more than one (1) hour after the completion of the judging of the class.

23.3 Such protest must be accompanied by a deposit of $50.00 which may be forfeited to the Society if in the opinion of the Ringmaster the protest is unfounded, frivolous or vexatious.

23.4 If an exhibit is awarded a prize and is subsequently

disqualified the prize will not automatically be awarded to the next placegetter. The final decision will be at the discretion of the Judge.

23.5 Any prize money awarded for an event, which is the

subject of protest, shall be retained by the Society until the protest has been resolved.

24. HACKING 24.1 Equestrian Australia (EA) and Show Horse Council

(SHC) rules will be used as a guideline. With respect to inconsistancies, the Society’s General Show Regulations will apply.

25. CARRIAGE DRIVING 25.1 The Australian Carriage Driving Society (ACDS) rules

will apply. With respect to inconsistancies, the RASWA’s General Show Regulations will apply.

26. REGISTRATION 26.1 Hack, Hunter, Rider and Turnout Classes: All riders

must be current members of, and all horses/ponies must be registered with, EA or SHC and hold a current Membership Card (except class 448 - Kindergarten Rider).

26.2 Leading Rein Classes: The rider need not be a

member of, nor the pony registered with EA or SHC. 26.3 Carriage Driving: All horses/ponies must be

registered with the ACDS, a recognised Breed Society, EA or SHC. All Drivers must be ACDS members.

27. CONDITIONS FOR ENTRY 27.1 Naming: All exhibits must be named. 28. QUALIFICATION CRITERIA 28.1 Hack: The horse/pony MUST have accumulated at

least 15 points from 6 July 2017 to 20 July 2018 in Show Horse or Show Pony classes at a qualifying fixture. The performances must include two (2) wins, as judged by two (2) different Judges, in Lady’s,

Gent’s, Girl’s, Boy’s, Height or Weight classes. At

least one (1) point must have been gained at a RASWA affiliated Agricultural Show, excluding the Perth Royal Show. Any points gained in Open classes at the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show may be included in the 15 points. Places in Maiden or Novice Hack classes at Agricultural Shows will count as an Agricultural point but will not count towards the required 15 points.

28.2 Show Hunter: The horse/pony MUST have accumulated at least 15 points from 6 July 2017 to 20 July 2018 in Show Hunter classes at a qualifying fixture. The performances must include two (2) wins, as judged by two (2) different Judges, in Lady’s,

Gent’s, Girl’s, Boy’s, Height or Weight classes. At least one (1) point must be gained at a RASWA Affiliated Agricultural Show. Any points gained in Open classes at the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show may be included in the 15 points. Places in Maiden or Novice Show Hunter classes at Agricultural Shows will count as an Agricultural point but not count towards the required 15 points.

28.3 Exhibits may compete in either the Show Horse or

Show Hunter ring; they may not compete in both. 28.4 Rider Mounts: Horses/Ponies used as rider mounts

must come from exhibits that have qualified to compete at the Show and entered either Show Horse or Show Hunter classes.

28.5 Carriage Driving: The horse/pony and driver MUST

have competed in at least two (2) recognised Carriage Driving Shows between 6 July 2017 and 20 July 2018, one (1) of which may include the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show.

28.6 Novice Classes: Entering a restrictive class in the

2018 IGA Perth Royal Show does not imply being able to enter a novice class the following year. Novice riders can also compete in open classes.

29. SAFETY HELMETS 29.1 All junior Exhibitors, riders, drivers, passengers,

attendants, grooms and any other participants 17 years of age and under must wear an approved safety helmet at all times whilst riding on the Society’s

Showground. This includes whether warming up, competing, riding or driving to or from the stables or participating in the Grand Parade.

29.2 The Society strongly recommends that all adult

Exhibitors, riders, attendants, grooms and any other participants 18 years of age and over, wear an approved safety helmet at all times whilst riding on the Society’s Showground. This includes, competing,

riding or driving to or from the stables or participating in the Grand Parade. A safety helmet must be worn while warming up.

29.3 The current EA approved safety helmet standards are:

• Australian (AS/NZS 3838) 2006 onwards • Australian (ARB HS 2012) provided they are

SAI Global marked • American (ASTM F1163) 2004a or 04a onwards • American (SNELL E2001) provided they are SEI

Global marked • European (VGI (01.040.2014-12) with or with

BSI Kitemark • British (PAS 015 (1998 or 2011) provided they

are BSI kitemark.

30. QUALIFICATION 30.1 Exhibitors entering horses/ponies must forward the

relevant performance details on the Qualification form with their entry.

30.2 EA or SHC Registration Certificate, Performance

Card, Height Certificate and Membership card must be forwarded with the entry.

31. CLASSIFICATION OF HORSES 31.1 Height Division for Hacks and Hunters:

• Small Ponies: 12.2 hands and under. • Large Ponies: Over 12.2 hands up to and including

14 hands. • Galloway: Over 14 hands up to and including 15

hands. • Hack: Over 15 hands.

31.2 Weight Classifications: Horses/ponies can only

compete in one (1) Weight class. It is the responsibility of exhibitors to ensure that horse/ponies are entered in the correct Weight class. Transfer between Weight classes will not be allowed following the close of entries.

32. PRESENTATION 32.1 Horses/ Ponies are to be clean, with a plaited mane

and a pulled or plaited tail. 32.2 Horses Competing in More Than One (1) Class:

Although it is provided that horses/ponies may compete in more than one (1) class, any or all of such classes may be judged simultaneously at the convenience of the Judges and Stewards. In all such cases, Exhibitors having a horse/pony or rider entered in more than one (1) class must elect in which class they will compete.

32.3 Spurs: Spurs with spiked rowels are not permitted. All

spurs are to be fitted correctly. Stewards may inspect spurs before competition.

32.4 Whips: The maximum length of whips carried in Hack

Hunter and Rider Classes must not exceed 75cm. 32.5 Substitutions: No substitutions of any kind will be

permitted in Horses in Action classes. 32.6 Breast Plates Numbers: Exhibitors are provided with

Breast Plate numbers which must be worn on the horse or on the Carriage vehicle in a breast plate holder, supplied by the Exhibitor. Numbers will be white for Show Horse or Show Hunter classes and blue for Rider classes.

32.7 Championship Awards: Those exhibits that are

eligible for Champion and Reserve Champion Awards are required to present for the class. Failure to do so may result in a $150.00 fine and the exhibit be prevented from entering any other class/es.

32.8 Marshalling: All Exhibitors must report to the Top Marshal prior to the start of each class in which they are competing, or they may be prevented from competing in a class.

34. 2019 QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 34.1 Exhibitors are to be advised that the qualifying

requirements for the 2019 Perth Royal Show Horses in Action section will be changed as follows:

Instead of a point scale, horses and ponies will be required to have competed in a minimum of four (4) competitions, excluding the Perth Royal Show and including one (1) Agricultural Show.

HACK COMPETITION These classes are subject to EA, Show Horse Council and the RASWA guidelines. Qualifying Conditions for Show Horse Classes: 1. Horses/ponies must hold a current Show Horse

Performance Card.

2. Performance points gained prior to the date of validation of a performance card will not be recognised. This includes any point(s) gained at an Agricultural Show.

3. Exhibitors wishing to enter their horses/ponies in Hack classes at the 2018 IGA Perth Royal Show must complete the Performance Sheet with details of their performances gained at qualifying fixtures. Details must include fixture, date, class details, place, Judge and points.

4. To qualify for the 2018 IGA Perth Royal Show a horse/pony must have accumulated at least 15 points, competing singly from 6 July 2017 to 20 July 2018 at approved qualifying fixtures. The performances gained must include two (2) wins under two (2) different Judges, in Lady’s, Gentleman’s,

Boys, Girls, Height or Weight classes. Points are allocated as follows: Champion 3 points Reserve 2 points 1st 3 points 2nd 2 points 3rd 1 point

5. If a horse/pony competes in two (2) separate rings at

the one (1) venue, only the points from one (1) ring can be used to qualify for the 2018 IGA Perth Royal Show.

6. At least one (1) of the qualifying points must be gained at a RASWA affiliated Agricultural Show, excluding the Perth Royal Show. Places gained in a Novice or Maiden Hack class at an Agricultural Show can be used as the one (1) Agricultural point required to enter the Perth Royal Show; no matter what placings are received in this class. However, it can not be included in the 15 points required as it was gained in a Novice or Maiden class and not an cpen Class. See rule 9.

7. A horse/pony registered for the first time after 1 January 2017 may be accepted at the 2018 IGA Perth Royal Show, by showing proof of having competed at a RASWA affiliated Agricultural Show. The Competitor must have their Hack Performance Card endorsed with the name of the Agricultural Show, date and the signature of a Show Official.

8. An approved International, Interstate or fully accredited State or National EA or SHC Judge must have officiated, in order for points to count for qualification. It is not necessary for the Judge to sign the card, but the Judge’s name must be stated.

9. Classes which do not count include: a) Show Hunter classes b) Novice or Maiden classes c) Hack classes restricted by breed or colour d) Hack classes restricted by district e) Pleasure or Turnout classes f) Rider classes g) Consolation classes h) Pairs and Team classes

10. Special dispensation may be granted to Exhibitors in

outer rural situations, who experience difficulty in qualifying under these conditions.

11. Appeals against rejection of entries should be lodged in

writing with the Councillor in Charge within 14 days of the dispatch of the rejection notification.

12. Interstate Exhibitors from States not issuing Hack

Performance Cards wishing to enter Hack classes at the 2018 IGA Perth Royal Show must forward a copy of the horse/pony Registration Certificate and their current membership, including a detailed list of all performances in Hack classes in the past twelve (12) months.

13. Horses/ponies measured out of their previous height

group take all gained points with them. This automatically precludes them from competing in Novice or Maiden classes if the specified number of wins were obtained in their former height range.

General Conditions: 1. Horses/ponies may only compete in either Show Hack

or Show Hunter classes.

2. Horses/ponies may compete in only one (1) weight class.

3. Horses/ponies will not be allowed to transfer from one weight class to another following the close of entries.

4. The length of whips carried in Hack classes must not exceed 75cm.

5. Competitors must provide breastplate holders for their numbers cards.

6. Ribbons may be provided from 1st to 6th place at the Judges’ discretion.

7. Although it is accepted that horses/ponies may compete in more than one (1) class, any or all of such classes may be judged simultaneously at the convenience of the Ringmaster. In all such cases, Exhibitors who have a Hack or Rider entered in more than one (1) class must elect in which class they compete.

8. The Royal Agricultural Society of WA reserves the right to combine, divide or withdraw classes where applicable.

IRISH MIST MEMORIAL AWARD For the horse gaining the most points in classes 379 to 384. Points will be awarded as follows: 1st 3 points 2nd 2 points 3rd 1 point In the event of equality, the winner will be decided on the points gained in classes 379 and 380. Irish Mist competed at 14 consecutive Perth Royal Shows and also produced three (3) foals during that time. Over the course of her Royal Show career, she won Sidesaddle, Hack, Junior Jumping, Novelty and Australian Stock Horse classes. She has won the Champion Galloway Hack, the Emily Pelloe Memorial class, been awarded Champion Working Stock Horse and has been the ASH High Point Stock Horse winner seven (7) times. In Hack classes, she was awarded 51 first places, 28 second places and 22 third places. At her last Perth Royal Show, aged 17 years, she retired with a Champion ribbon. SLM Flirting known by all as Max, is Australia’s most awarded

show horse. Max loved to compete and would canter on and off the truck to every competition with excitement, his favourite show was always the Perth Royal Show, where he would bask in all the attention and atmosphere. Max would float across the main arena with his ears pricked, loving every second of his time at the Perth Royal Show. Bella was 14 years old when Max came into her life and straight away they had a special bond like no other. Bella still can not pat or ride another horse in front of Max without him putting on a very large display of jealousy. Max took Bella on the ride of her life and together they won more than Bella could have ever dreamt. Max had the most incrediable movement, presence and love for what he did, and he impressed all that watched him. Some of Max’s achievements include: Perth Royal Show Champion Hack 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013. Gosnells Masters Champion Hack, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015. SHC Classic Champion Hack 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016. 12X Champion Hack of the Year Titles SHC Grand National Champion Hack EA Nationals and Trans Tasman Runner up Hack. In early 2016 after winning the two (2) Grand National qualifiers of the year (Western Stars and SHC Classic) at the incredible age of 18 it was time for Max to retire from the show ring. SHOW HUNTER COMPETITION These classes are subject to EA, SHC and the RASWA guidelines. Description: Show hunters should be of good conformation and soundness and have strong bone without losing quality. A hunter should be able to carry its rider for a full days hunting. They should give a stronger impression than some hacks having a more noble head rather than a fine small head. The head should however be intelligent and ‘fit’ the horse/pony.

They should exhibit boldness and be tractable, supple, free moving and balanced. Show hunters should create the impression that it is capable of hunting over a variety of terrain – this militates against any weakness in conformation which would prevent this and must do it comfortably for the rider. The hunter must have a well balanced gallop moving from the shoulder with hind legs well under and can display quality without being unduly fine. All paces should be straight and free in action and the hunter should posses a steady temperament, a natural balance and display a degree of boldness. They may be of any colour. Horse: Should be to type and immaculate, they should be presented in a natural state. Manes to be plaited and tails to be pulled or plaited. Horses should not have quarter markers or checkers as used in show horse classes, but large patterns are acceptable. Rider: Preferably tweed jacket although plain navy or black fabric are acceptable. Tweed can be blue, green or brown mixture, the colour chosen should go well with the mount. Bowlers or hunter caps covered by plain velvet in dark colour to match the jacket. Riders 17 years of age and under to wear approved safety helmet. Shirt with collar to tone with jacket and plain or discreetly patterned tie. Jodhpurs or breeches should be fawn or beige. Short boots for children and long boots for older children and adults. Buttonholes are not usually worn. Gloves should be plain and match the rider’s

boots. Gear: Saddlery should be clean, neat and well fitting but may be more ‘workmanlike’ than for a ridden Show Horse bridle should be simple double or snaffle and have plain brow band (no coloured or fancy brow bands). Saddle should be straight cut show saddle. Dummy spurs are permitted. Qualifying Conditions for Show Hunter Classes: 1. The horse/pony must hold a current Show Horse

Performance Card. 2. Performance points gained prior to the validation of a

performance card will not be recognised, this includes any point(s) gained at an Agricultural Show.

3. Registration with the Hunter Horse Association of

Australia is accepted.

4. Exhibitors wishing to enter their horses/ponies in Show Hunter classes at the 2018 IGA Perth Royal Show must complete the Performance Sheet with details of their performances gained at qualifying fixtures. Details must include fixture, date, class details, place, Judge and points.

5. To qualify for the 2018 IGA Perth Royal Show, a

horse/pony must have gained a minimum of 15 points from Show Hunter classes at qualifying fixtures from 6 July 2017 to 20 July 2018.

The performance gained must include two (2) wins under two (2) different Judges, in Lady's, Gent's, Boy's, Girl's, Height or Weight classes.

Points are allocated as follows: Champion 3 points Reserve 2 points 1st 3 points 2nd 2 points 3rd 1 point

6. If a horse/pony competes in two (2) separate rings at

the one (1) venue, only the points from one (1) ring can be used to qualify for the 2018 IGA Perth Royal Show.

7. At least one (1) of the qualifying points must be gained at a RASWA affiliated Agricultural Show, excluding the Perth Royal Show. Places gained in a Novice or Maiden Hack class at an Agricultural Show can be used as the one (1) Agricultural point required to enter the Perth Royal Show; no matter what placings are received in this class. However, it cannot be included in the 15 points required as it was gained in a Novice or Maiden class and not an Open class. See item 10 below.

8. A horse/pony registered for the first time after 1 January 2018 may be accepted at the 2018 IGA Perth Royal Show, by showing proof of having competed at a RASWA affiliated Agricultural Show. The Competitor must have their Hack Performance Card endorsed with the name of the Agricultural Show, date and the signature of a Show Official.

9. An approved International, Interstate or fully accredited State or National EA or SHC Judge must have officiated, in order for points to count for qualification. It is not necessary for the Judge to sign the card, but the Judge's name must be stated.

10. Classes which do not count include: a) Hack classes b) Novice or Maiden classes c) Show Hunter classes restricted by breed or colour d) Show Hunter classes restricted by district e) Pleasure or Turnout classes f) Rider classes g) Consolation classes h) Pairs and Team classes

11. Special dispensation may be granted to Competitors in

outer rural situations, who experience difficulty in qualifying under these conditions.

12. Appeals against rejection of entries should be lodged in writing with the Councillor in Charge within 14 days of the dispatch of the rejection notification.

13. Interstate Competitors from States not issuing Performance Cards wishing to enter Show Hunter classes at the 2018 IGA Perth Royal Show must forward a copy of the horse/pony Registration Certificate and their current membership, as well as details of all performances in Show Hunter classes in the past twelve months.

14. Horses/ponies measured out of their previous height group take all gained points with them.

General Conditions: 1. Horses/ponies may only compete in either Show Hunter

or Hack classes.

2. Horses/ponies may compete in only one (1) weight class.

3. Horses/ponies will not be allowed to transfer from one weight class to another following the close of entries.

4. The length of whips carried in Hack classes must not exceed 75cm.

5. Competitors must provide breastplate holders for their numbers cards.

6. Ribbons may be provided from 1st to 6th place at the Judges' discretion.

7. Although it is provided that horses/ponies may compete in more than one (1) class, any or all of such classes may be judged simultaneously at the convenience of the Ringmaster. In all such cases, Competitors having a Show Hunter or Rider entered in more than one (1) class must elect in which class they compete.

8. The Royal Agricultural Society of WA reserves the right to combine, divide or withdraw classes where applicable.

NOVICE SHOW HUNTER CLASSES For Horses/Ponies that have not won any Show Hunter class competing singly at any Royal Show as at close of entries. Exhibits competing in Show Hunter classes are not permitted to compete in Hack classes. The length of whips carried in Show Hunter classes must not exceed 75cm. Conditions: To be ridden by a rider of any age, All riders are to be suitably mounted. SEE RULE 14.7. These classes will follow the guidlines of EWA, SHC and RASWA.

Class 429 THE "LESLIE JONES" MEMORIAL CLASS Conditions of Entry: For Thoroughbred mare or gelding over 14.2h. The Thoroughbred Studbook name and Registration number must be stated on the entry form. To be judged by two (2) Judges. In the opinion of the Judges, the horse is beautiful, comfortable, well mannered and educated, being sound of wind and limb. The horse should be excellently presented and give the appearance of quality, a pleasure to handle, watch and ride. The ratio for judging will be 50% conformation and soundness, 40% for manners, paces and education and 10% for presentation. It should therefore be noted that first and foremost the horse is a QUALITY animal. Mrs Leslie Jones was a life long equestrienne who was committed to the highest standards, particularly in the Show Horse discipline and turnouts. She was a successful Competitor, Instructor and Judge and she worked tirelessly as an administrator and committee member with principled ideals to many organisations. Class 430 THE "EMILY PELLOE" MEMORIAL TURNOUT CLASS For ladies 18 years of age and over as at the first day of the Show. Horse and rider must be resident in WA from close of entries. Mrs Emily Pelloe was a very talented woman and made a considerable contribution to the development of Western Australia. Her many fields of endeavour included art, writing and horse riding. In the early 1900's she combined her love of horse riding and the study of Western Australian wildflowers with numerous excursions into the bush to paint and sketch wildflowers. Her journals, which are held in St Catherine's College, are recognised as the only record of some Western Australian wildflowers, which have disappeared from the Australian bush. Conditions of Entry: The name of the horse and rider must be given on the entry form and any horse nominated must have been accepted for Hack/Show Hunter classes at the current Perth Royal Show. LEADING REIN CLASSES General Conditions: 1. The rider must be a minimum of 4 years of age and no

more than 7 years of age as at the first day of the Show.

2. The rider's name must be stated on the entry form and a copy of the rider's birth certificate must accompany the entry.

3. The rider need not be a member of, nor the pony registered with the EA or Show Horse Council.

4. The qualifying conditions for Hacks do not apply to these classes.

5. Riders competing in Leading Rein classes must not have competed off the lead in any official or unofficial event prior to the first day of the Show.

6. Any child competing in Leading Rein classes will be ineligible to compete in any other class at the Perth Royal Show with the exception of Horses Breed class, Combined Leading Rein Pony.

7. Ponies may only compete in either the Show Pony or Hunter Pony class.

8. Whip length for all Leading Rein classes is 40cm.

9. Exhibitors will receive one (1) extra ticket per combination.

CARRIAGE COMPETITION Conditions of Entry: 1. Horses/ponies are to be registered with ACDS, a

recognised Breed Society, EA or SHC. A copy of the Registration Papers must be sent in with entries.

2. All Exhibitors and Drivers must be a member of the ACDS at the close of entries and for the duration of the Show.

3. Both horse/pony and the driver must compete in at least two (2) recognised Carriage Driving classes from 6 July 2017 to 20 July 2018, one of which may include the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show.

4. Horses/ponies entered in Harness classes must have a competent handler who is over 12 years of age. The handler must be correctly attired.

5. A Handler is the person on the ground, not travelling in a vehicle (carriage). Handlers remain on standby to stand with an exhibit in the line-up or while standing in the warm-up area. The Handler must stay with the exhibit for all the time the horse/pony is put to.

6. Junior drivers will require someone in the vehicle with the driver as well as a Handler.

7. All junior drivers, passengers and any other participants 17 years and under must wear an approved safety helmet at all times whilst driving on the Society’s

Showground. This includes warming up, competing, or driving to or from the stables.

8. Exhibits in the Carriage Driving enclosure must be attended at all times. When the horse/pony is 'put to', the driver must remain in the vehicle and have a handler.

9. Under no circumstances or condition should a bridle be removed from an exhibit while it is still 'put to'.

10. Horses must wear blinkers when 'put to'.

11. Horses/ponies competing in Carriage Driving classes must have an official Height Certificate.

12. Exhibitors entering in Carriage Driving classes at the Show must provide a number holder for their vehicle.

13. Horses/ponies must have the same driver for a Championship award as in the class.

14. In the class of a driver having more than one (1) exhibit eligible for a Championship award, they will be permitted to drive the exhibits provided they are harnessed to compete and in the hands of a capable adult ACDS driver seated in the vehicle and all exhibits must have a handler.

15. Stallions must be driven by a person 18 years or over as at the first day of the Show.

16. RASWA reserves the right to combine or withdraw classes where applicable.

17. Junior Driver:

a) A junior driver is a person who has not attained the age of 18 years.

b) A junior driver aged 6 - 10 years inclusive must be

accompanied in the vehicle by an ACDS adult member (an experienced driving person) seated alongside at all times and holding a second pair of reins attached to the bit.

c) A junior driver aged 11 - 15 years inclusive must

be accompanied in the vehicle by an ACDS adult member (an experienced driving person) seated alongside at all times. It is optional for a second pair of reins attached to the bit.

d) A junior driver aged 16 - 17 years inclusive

competing with a single horse or pony may carry a groom or passenger at their discretion.

e) Junior multiple drivers - a junior driver aged 16 -

17 years inclusive may drive a pair of ponies but no horses or a larger combination.

Carriage Driving exhibits may participate in the Grand Parade if they wish.

GENERAL SHOW REGULATION 17. LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY(Extract from the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia

General Show Regulations - Revised 22 August 2007).17.1 Exhibitor Accepts The lodgement of an Application of Entry form shall be deemed to be acknowledgment by the Exhibitor of his or her agreement that the Society shall be under no liability for:

17.1.1 No Liability for animals or birds Exhibited The loss, injury or death of any animal, (including birds) Exhibited, whether caused by, or attributable to, the negligence of the Society, or of its servants or Agent, or otherwise howsoever.

17.1.2 No Liability for property Exhibited Any loss or damage occasioned to or by any property Exhibited, whether caused by, or attributable to, the negligence of the Society or of its servants or Agent, or otherwise howsoever.

17.1.3 No Liability for other animals, property, Exhibitor or general public Any injury or damage occasioned to any other animal or property Exhibited, or to any other Exhibitor, or to the general public, whether caused by, or attributable to, the negligence of the Society, or of its servants or Agent, or otherwise howsoever.

17.1.4 No Liability for contracting any disease or suffering animals or birds Any loss or damage suffered by any Exhibitor as a result of any disease contracted or suffered by any animals (including birds) after, or as a consequence of any animal Exhibits, or their progeny, being brought onto the Showground.

17.2 No Liability for livestock sales The Society and the Auctioneers of Royal Show Livestock Sales shall be under no liability to any Owner or purchaser of livestock (whether exhibited or otherwise) entered for sale or sold at any Royal Show Livestock Sale.

17.2.1 No Liability for livestock auctioned In respect of any loss or injury to such livestock; whether such loss or injury be caused by or be attributable to, the negligence of the Auctioneers specified in the Regulations relating to the Royal Show Livestock Sales or to the Society or any of its servants or Agents.

17.2.2 No Liability for other livestock, property, Exhibitor or general public For any injury or damage occasioned to any other livestock or property, or to any other Exhibitor, or to the general public, whether caused by, or attributable to, the negligence of the Auctioneers specified in the Regulations relating to the Royal Show Livestock Sales or to the Society or any of its servants or Agents.

17.2.3 No Liability for consequential loss and loss of profits For any loss or damage (including without limitation consequential loss and loss of profits) suffered by any Owner or purchaser of livestock as a result of any disease contracted or suffered by any livestock after, or as a consequence of any livestock being entered for sale, at any Royal Show Livestock Sale.

17.3 Exhibits sold privately Where any animal Exhibited, or any other Exhibit, is sold privately during the time of the Royal Show the vendor thereof shall indemnify the Society against all liability to the purchaser in respect of any loss, injury, disease or damage to such animal or other Exhibit, whether such loss, injury, disease or damage be caused by or attributable to the negligence of the Society or any of its servants or Agents.

17.4 Accidents and Incidents Competitors, Exhibitors and Attendants must report promptly to the Society all accidents and incidents causing or likely to cause injury to persons or damage to property.

17.5 Trade Practices Act To the extent that any matter relating to entry or remaining upon the Showground relates to the supply of goods or services by the Society within the meaning of s. 68A of the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cwlth), the Society’s liability is limited as follows:

(a) in case of goods, the replacement, repair or payment for the replacement or repair of the goods. (b) in the case of services, the re-supply of the services or the cost of the re-supply of the services.

It shall be in the Society’s absolute discretion as to whether it replaces, repairs or pays for replacement or repair of goods. It shall be further in the Society’s discretion as to whether it re-supplies or pays the cost of re-supply or services.

17.6 Indemnity To the maximum extent permitted by law, each Competitor and Exhibitor must indemnify and keep indemnified the Society and its officers, employees, members and Agents from and, against all actions, claims, demands, losses, damages, costs, expenses and liabilities including without limitation, consequential loss and loss of profits for which the Society is or may be become liable in respect of or arising from:

(a) loss, damage or injury to any person in connection with the Exhibit or the relevant Class; (b) without limiting sub-regulation (a) loss, damage or injury to any other Exhibit or Exhibitor, his or her family, invitees, Agents, or to the property of the Society, or its members, or to the general public, caused or contributed to or by any act or omission of an Exhibit of the Exhibitor or by the Exhibitor, his or her family, invitees or Agents; and (c) without limiting sub-regulation (a) loss, damage or injury to the Exhibit, or the Exhibitor, his or her family, invitees, or Agents caused or contributed by an act or omission of an Exhibit of the Exhibitor or by the transportation, feeding or housing of an Exhibit of the Exhibitor.

17.7 Removal of Exhibit Without prejudice to any other provision of these Regulations, where the Society, its officers, employees, members or Agents remove an Exhibit, or causes an Exhibit to be removed from the Showground, the Exhibit is removed or caused to be removed entirely at the risk of the Exhibitor. The person or persons removing the Exhibit will be deemed to be the Agent of the Exhibitor, and his or her acts and omissions will be deemed to be the acts and omissions of the Exhibitor.

ANIMAL / LIVESTOCK OWNERS / EXHIBITORSPUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE

The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (“Society”) has a Public Liability insurance policy in the interests of Owners / Exhibitors of Animals / Livestock entering competitions in accordance with the Society’s General Show Regulations and Section Conditions.

INSURED PARTIES:

Owner(s) / Exhibitor(s) of Animal / Livestock Exhibits upon payment of Entry fees and provided such Owner(s) / Exhibitor(s) comply with all requirements herein togetherwith the Society’s General Show Regulations and Section Conditions. Failure to comply may render the Owner(s) / Exhibitor(s) personally liable for any claims that may arise as a result of any incident to which they may have contributed.

PERIOD OF INSURANCE:

For the period the Animals / Livestock are on the Society’s Claremont Showground, Claremont, Western Australia for the purposes of the 2018 IGA Perth Royal Show.

INSURED ACTIVITIES:

All activities undertaken whilst within the confines of the Society’s Claremont Showground, Claremont, Western Australia consistent with the (Business) Insured Parties’ Animal / Livestock exhibit activity.

DESCRIPTION OF COVER:

Insurance in respect of the Insured Parties’ liability to pay costs and compensation in respect of loss of, or damage to, third party property and death of, or injury to, third party persons caused by, and arising out of, the insured parties’activities, all subject to the Society’s policy terms, conditions, exclusions and warranties etc.

AMOUNT OF COVER:

$150,000,000 any one occurrence.

Excess: $10,000 each and every claim.

It should be noted that the payment of the excess in the event of a claim is the responsibility of the Owner(s) /Exhibitor(s).

JURISDICTION:

Australia.

TERRITORY:

The Royal Agricultural Society’s Showground, Claremont, Western Australia.

INSURER:

Lloyds of London and others as listed on policies held by the Society.

IMPORTANT CONDITIONS:

The Owner(s) / Exhibitor(s) must:

1. Exercise reasonable care to maintain all premises, fittings and plant in sound condition;

2. Take all reasonable precautions to prevent injury and damage to persons and property;

3. Promptly comply with any request made by the Royal Agricultural Society of WA which it may, at its sole discretion, require of an Owner(s) / Exhibitor(s);

4. Give immediate notice:

a) of an incident that may give rise to a claim; or b) if in receipt of advice of a claim;

5. Not make any admission, offer or promise in connection with any claim and must not at any time admit liability;

6. Make themselves aware of, and comply with, the policy conditions including duty of disclosure.

All Exhibitors are reminded that it is part of their obligation as Exhibitors at the 2018 IGA Perth Royal Show to parade their animals in the Grand Parade. The Grand Parade is a significant daily event and very popular with the public. It is therefore very important to the Royal Agricultural Society.

Exhibitors will be required to hand in a Grand Parade Pass as they enter the Main Arena for each Grand Parade.

Any horse/pony that is not exhibited in the Grand Parade without an approved exemption, will result in the Exhibitor forfeiting any prize money and being fined $50.00. This fine must be paid before the Exhibitor is permitted to enter in the 2019 Perth Royal Show.
