Sunday, April 14th at 6:00 p.m.
This Sunday, April 14th, Smithwood will present “The Last Supper”, a dramatization with music. Postcards promoting this event are available at the Welcome Center. We encourage you to invite your families, friends and neighbors to this very special evening.
A copy of this Fred Cannon Photography original photo, taken just after the comple-tion of the steeple renova-tion, can be yours for a do-nation of just $25 to the Steeple Repair Fund. The photo is displayed at the Welcome Center. The dead-line to order is May 1st.
On Wednesday, April 17th, the Easter egg hunt will take the place of our normally sched-uled children’s and youth activ-ities. There will not be any Bi-ble study on this evening. On Wednesday, April 24th, the Tennessee Baptist Men’s Cho-rale will perform a concert in our sanctuary. All normally scheduled Wednesday evening activities are cancelled so that all can attend this special event.
From Our Pastor….
For a little over a year, the church council has been considering the health
of our church. Last year, we read a book called “What Is a Healthy
Church?” by Mark Dever, and since August we have been reading a book
called “Autopsy of a Deceased Church” by Thom Rainer. These books
have sparked some helpful discussion. Now I would like for us to get
some further information about the health of our church.
Starting this week, several members of our church will be taking a survey
online. This survey is produced and administrated by an organization
called Church Health Report. More information about this survey can be
found at churchhealthreport.com. Our goal is to get a good cross section
of our church members so that people from diverse ages and backgrounds
can give their input on the health of our church. If you have been asked to
be a part of this survey, thank you for participating!
VBS MEETING
There will be a meeting for everyone planning to participate in our Vaca-
tion Bible School this year, immediately following worship on April 28th.
Lunch will be provided for all who attend. Please RSVP to the office by
April 21st to let us know if you plan to attend. Thank you to all who are
excited to be a part of this year’s VBS!
Flowering of the Cross
Please remember to bring
your flowers for the Flowering
of the Cross on Easter Sunday.
