(CPDB) envisions itself as a leading

ServicesCPDB, in partnership with several in-
dustry associations, offers specialized
certificate courses. Current offerings
include marketing communications
with PANAF, strategic compliance for
banks with ABCOMP, supply chain
management with SCMAP, and digital
marketing with E-Learning Edge. The
Center regularly holds public seminars
on corporate governance for directors
and updates on accounting and tax
standards. The Center also provides
review programs in preparation for
CIMA UKs papers and Beckers US
CPA examination. The Center does
customized professional development
programs for client institutions such as
Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Rizal Com-
mercial Banking Corporation, Metro
Pacific Tollways, and Deutsche
Knowledge Services.

The Certificate Course provides an overview of
the compliance function in banks, introduces keycompliance principles and frameworks, and
dwells on the specific laws, rules, and standards
that affect the banking industry in the Philip-
pines.
Participants are also introduced to specific is-
sues faced by bank compliance officers and
compliance teams, and are required to develop a
compliance program for their respective institu-
tions, or provide a critique of their existing com-
pliance programs.
Course ObjectivesAt the end of this course, participants are
expected to be able to:
1. Enhance understanding of the compliance
function, how it affects bank operations, and
the regulatory environment and laws facing
banks;
2. Raise awareness on the needed skills and
competencies of bank compliance officers;
and
3. Promote the highest levels of professional-
ism, integrity, and competencies in the ful-
fillment of the compliance function in thebanking industry.
Who Should Attend?1. Current and potential bank compliance
officers;
2. Senior executives and middle
managers of commercial,
thrift, and rural banks; and
3. Other interested stakeholders
of the banking industry.
Course Content Schedule and Fees Registration and RequirementsInterested participants can register at the
CPDB offices upon payment and submission
of the following general requirements:
1. A bachelors degree in accounting,
finance, or other related fields;
2. At least one year of work experience in
the banking industry;
3. Participant information sheet
4. One 2x2 picture
5. Certificate of Employment (if company-
sponsored)
Participants will receive a Certificate ofCompletion upon completing all 101modules and a Certificate of Attendance foreach 201 module completed. Module
resource persons include faculty members
of De La Salle University and members of
the Association of Bank Compliance Officers,
Inc. (ABCOMP).

the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
since 2001, is the professional organization ofbank compliance officers in the Philippines. A
designated operations sub-committee of the
Bankers Association of the Philippines (BAP),
ABCOMPwhose membership includes more
than 60 of the countrys largest financial institu-
tionsis a clearing house for regulatory issues
among compliance officers, and is tasked with
the effective implementation of the Manual of
Regulations for Banks, the AntiMoney Launder-
ing Act, and the SECs Code of Corporate Govern-
ance.
