SALES CORNER – SHIFTING THE HORIZON

South: The region with its HQ @ Chennai is responsible for the sales & service operation of Deccan Region comprising of Andhra , Telangana, Karnataka , Tamil Nadu & Kerala . Branch offices @ Bangalore, Hyderabad and Resident Engineers located @ Coimbatore & Visakhapatnam provides closer proximity with the customers. The Region has country’s first BEMS @ Vijayawada & contributed to many firsts -- Johnson is FEI’s largest OEM & also the biggest customer of FEI . In Hyderabad, we have FEI’s biggest panel builder who contributed to our first CE marked LV & Drive Panels for our export job to Turkey. We have opened the doors @ a Sugar plant with Gas Analyser, and repeat orders followed thereafter .The Region clinched the first SPH based PLC job @ JSW for Boiler Application. Apart from the above , we tasted successes @ VISL - BF Booster Pump Control and at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant - number of installations @ Coke Ovens/SMS/RMHP areas . Though the revenue churners are primarily OEM customers , currently the region is successful in moving towards Configured Drive solutions , Energy saving solutions, Solar Pump solutions, Boiler Control solutions , Gas Analyser Systems and other Value added solution involving a rich gamut of Instrumentation products. With demos & proof of concepts show cased by our application engineers amongst various customers , business will soon be leaning heavily and equally towards “Solution business“

East: Eastern Region which has doubled it’s strength in this fiscal year & is well on it’s path to double the revenue. Focus on Instrumentation has led to new registrations & successes in Core Sector industries. The opportunity has led to the need of addition of 2 more persons - one to man the office @ Kolkata & Other to offer customer support. The region offers a humongous potential for all FE Products & human capital need to be injected after the present growth stabilizes. Region has received orders from major steel plants in the form of Tisco , Durgapur & Jindal , which indicates that we are on track to hog the limelight. The team is young & needs extra support from all in FEI.

Channel Story : Proud to be a part of FEI’s Channel Movement which has seen hyper growth during the period of 2011-15. Keiichi Kawano: I joined FEI on 1st March 2012 & looking after Administration Field (Accounting, Finance, General Affairs and Human Resources) of FEI as Vice President & CFO. When I joined FEI, total number of employees was only 27. But now, we have more than 106 employees & exist in more than 10 locations. Even now, number of our Administration related staffs is not big for such big numbers. We will continue to work most efficiently for supporting FEI's further growth. Since FEI became a consolidated company of Fuji Japan starting this April, we are having more and more requirements from Fuji Japan especially in terms of Administration. So I would be appreciating all your understanding, support and cooperation to me and our Admin Staffs. Great going and happy to be amongst you.

Ken Sugano: Hello my colleagues!!. My mission is to drive new businesses & activities by extracting HQ’s cooperation and expand Japanese public and private business in India. FEI is one of the highest attention gathering overseas subsidiaries in Fuji group because of the consistent & exponential growth achieved. Moreover, India is regarded as the most potential country to grow in the world for next 30 years. Therefore, HQ expects FEI to become a 100M USD company by 2018. To achieve this ambitious target, our highlighted projects on going are as followings. 1) Launch smart grid, energy management and smart meter business by utilizing NEDO Panipat & AP new capital projects. 2) Seek the new collaboration with a drive system solution provider. 3) Expand CC function to start VFD manufacturing and GA service. 4) Launch energy center solution for steel plants by utilizing NEDO SAIL Bunmpur project. 5) Enhance Japan desk’s function by allocating one Japanese trainee in Gurgaon office & bring three diagnosis solutions (Rotating machine diagnosis, blade machinery diagnosis, and oil filled transformer life diagnosis). Above objectives will be a big challenge and will stretch FEI’s capabilities. It is definitely an interesting journey and lets all be together to share the glory. Till now, FEI’s core competence is marketing and engineering of the solution for drive & automation with instrumentation, which will continue to be FEI’s business base. Based on this strong back ground, FEI will be transformed into the company to expand the business domain and function. For instance, we will be the champion of smart grid business and we will have a plan to manufacture VFD and smart meter. These things will challenge us & stretch current FEI’s capability. It is quite a distant and tough to achieve it. However, it is definitely interesting journey. I would like to share information, knowledge and experience with you as much as possible. Let’s board on this opportunity and enjoy the way to glory together!!

Future is going to be more exciting since we are strengthening our Adoptation Centre and is setting up a new line for manufacturing of Drives. Take pleasure in thanking the entire team who helped us to achieve the Silver “Award” in Automation Expo 2015 for Best Stall Design

Mahendra Chalke: 4 years back that the contribution of lift drive was 58% of our turnover & our turnover was one-third of our present size. Commendable job has been done by Sales & Marketing Team to shift the boundaries & bring the size of pie to 45, while maintaining more the market growth & expanding market share. Over the last 3 years we shifted our gear and added PLC’s, Servo, HMI’s, Engineered Drive Solution & Field Instruments. We focussed on various industry segments like HVAC, Packaging, Cranes, Metal, Solar, Textile & Water which yielded much rich dividend. It was a herculean task in navigating our sales team in terms of providing the market friendly new products, impart them the product training and providing them with the industry knowledge. The Table below indicates the migration story.

Ashes Nandi: FY 2014-15 provided us a strong financial results in FEI business based on organic growth. Minor aberrations were observed due to trans-national project business which was an important element in our learning curve. We see FEI’s performance as a function of discipline, reflecting our focus on fundamental financial principles and the emphasis that we placed on sustainable growth. In an environment of margin compression and intense competition, we have performed quite well. We credit the strength and consistency of our strategy, the stability and dedication of our management team, and the disciplined execution& rapid learning of our people. FY 2015-16, Q1 results are on the track. SGA is within the budget except one or two items where marginal variance was noted. Our systems and processes are in continuous focus to cope up our increasing business targets and compliances. In Q3, FEI, being a consolidated company, will face Internal Auditors from Japan. Meeting Challenges The margin compression we have seen has intensified the need for stringent discipline in executing our strategies of regional empowerment which transformed into ∆P & ∆Q analysis. A separate team in Commercial Excellence has been formed to monitor the fiscal health. Challenges remain in terms of continuous Regulatory reforms. The cost of compliance has gone up. The regulatory environment has intensified and will likely only grow more stringent. Our strategy is working & will not change. Our discipline will not waiver. Our focus on the customer will remain absolute. The best is yet to come!
