stringent condition mentioned of non

responsive bid is applicable for the

Guarantee Schedules only and not for

the technical data sheets wherein a lot

of detailed engineering and

Transfer Rate testing of all the

aeration zones. The water depth in

the tank for the tests shall be 6

meters. During the test the contractor

shall demonstrate the guaranteed

maximum and minimum oxygen

transfer rates (SOTR) at the

guaranteed airflows and pressures.

The contractor shall carry out tests

generally as set out in the American

Society for Civil Engineers “Standard

Measurement for Oxygen Transfer to

clean water” Latest Edition.

Query: The tests mentioned to

measure the oxygen tranfer rate to

water are asked to be as per the

American Socity of Civil Engineers.

This clause favours some particular

Diffuser manufacturers and thus

unnecessarily loading the project cost

loading.

We, therefore, request you to delete

the clause and allow manufacturer’s

certification and data from the

operational installations

stringent grit removal efficiency of >

95 % for grit greater than150 microns

documents which is very stringent.

We are enclosing Table 5.18 of

Metcalf Eddy which clearly indicates

a Typical Removal efficiency of

>65% for grit size of 150 microns.

Such stringent condition is favoring

only one foreign make equipment

supplier.

So, we request you to allow Aerated

Type and Detrittor Horizontal Flow

Type grit removal mechanisms in

addition to Vortex Type Grit

Chambers and at the same time relax

the Grit Removal efficiency in

accordance with the standard

reference as enclosed.

Our request should also be

ascertained by the fact that your

tender envisage OPEN

TECHNOLOGY and therefore

restricting grit removal to only

Vortex type would defeat your motto

of OPEN TECHNOLOGY.

can offer any other alternative

process unit instead of secondary

clariflocculator, provided they meet

the desired outlet standards as

stipulated in the tender. Please

The sizes of existing bioreactor

(L.D) – 2 Nos

Phase III – 116 m x 16 m x 3.8 m

(LD) – 2 Nos.

Liquid depth of bioreactor in phase II

and III is 3.5 m and 3.8 m

respectively. Due to lesser liquid

depth, the oxygen transfer efficiency

will be lower and required larger

blower capacity.

Please clarify whether bidder can

demolish the existing bioreactor and

construct a new bioreactor with

increased depth.
