HURTIGRUTENTHE WORLD’S MOST BEAUTIFUL VOYAGE

GROUP TOUR - 6 DAY ROUNDTRIP The fjords are an incredible part of Norway’s coastline. Formed by ancient, slow mov-ing glaciers carving into rock as they moved towards the sea, fjords are very steep, long valleys and have become synonymous with Norway. Explore the coastline, from the heights of mountains to the depths of the fjords, from Trondheim, residential town of both viking kings and archbishops, to the vibrant former Hanseatic town Ber-gen and discover the inlands of Norway by train in combination with Hurtigruten’s cruises. The history of Hurtigruten goes back 125 years where inland roads in the north were non existent, so a safe trade route was essential to link the southern and northern regions of Norway.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN OSLOArrival in Oslo (Gardermoen) by plane and trans-fer to your hotel. In the afternoon 3 h city tour including the Vigeland Park with its 200 sculp-tures, the royal palace, the Olympic jumping hill Holmenkollen, the opera building and the city hall. Remainder of the day on you own for muse-um visits, shopping or a fjord cruise.

DAY 2: OSLO/TRONDHEIMTransfer to Oslo railway station for a relaxing train ride through stunning sceneries on The “Dovre Railway” from Oslo to Trondheim. The line passes along the banks of Norway’s largest lake Mjøsa, through the scenic Gudbrandsdal valley and across the mighty Dovrefjell mountain plateau – one of Norway’s famous national parks. Dovrefjell is home to a population of around 300 wild Musk oxen. Mid afternoon arrival in Trond-heim, one of the most picturesque towns in Nor-way. 3 h city tour including the authentic areas of Bakklandet with tiny wooden houses, the old wooden town bridge, the wooden warehouses on the banks of the Nidelven river as well as the medieval cathedral “Nidarosdomen”.

DAY 3-4: TRONDHEIM/BERGEN BY HURTIGRUTEN

Transfer to Trondheim harbor and the Hurti-gruten pier. The ship leaves Trondheim in the morning, and you will spend a total of 1 ½ days onboard the ship. Enjoy the peaceful cruise and changing landscape along the Norwegian coast-line. During the cruise the ship docks in several

small coastal towns to deliver freight and local passengers. You can experience charming vil-lages and the inlands of Norway during a shore excursion to the Atlantic road, which can be booked on board. Visiting 34 ports, Hurtigruten has an exceptional opportunity to get the fresh-est produce from local suppliers every day. This means delicate, rich and fresh ingredients from both coastal and inland areas are served during the meals onboard.

DAY 4: ARRIVAL IN BERGENAfternoon: Docking of the Hurtigruten in Ber-gen, the final destination and the world-famous old Hanseatic town on the west coast. You will participate in a 3 h city tour throughout older and newer parts of the city including the remark-able fish market, the old city center and the Han-seatic wharf.

DAY 5: BERGEN/OSLOThe day begins with a train ride along one of the most scenic and unique train lines in the world: Bergen/Oslo. No other train ride between two cities in Europe is at a higher altitude, and it takes in dazzling sceneries, with the most spec-tacular stretch being the one over the Hardan-gervidda, Europe’s highest mountainous plateau. Arrival mid afternoon in Oslo and late afternoon on your own in the center of Oslo.
