Bringing the Holiday to Families and Children in Need

SCAN held its annual Santa Shop December 16 and 17. The James Center welcomed families who are served by SCAN’s programs. While caregivers “shopped” for gifts, their children enjoyed hot chocolate, holiday crafts, cookies, photos with Santa Clause and a movie. The gifts parents and caregivers chose from were donated from many community members, businesses and organizations. The event provided gifts for more than 250 children. Thank you to all of those who donated gifts and time, who are listed below. Also, a BIG thank you goes to SCAN’s Board of Young Professionals who make this annual event a success. Mustaches for Kids Reaches its Goal

Mustaches for Kids (M4KRichmond) held an-other “growing season” to benefit organizations

in the Richmond area who help children. The season culminated with the group’s annual

Stache Bash. M4kRichmond raised $90,000 this year, nearly doubling last year’s contributions totaling $55,000. The funds the group raised

will benefit SCAN, ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation and the Children’s Hospital

Foundation. SCAN is fortunate to have this fun, creative and motivated group of gentlemen

supporting its work and advocating for children.

Donate Snacks to Children

Served by SCAN

SCAN is in need of healthy snacks for our programs. Suggested food items include goldfish crackers, packaged fruit snacks,

granola bars, and juice boxes. If your neighborhoods, faith communities, clubs,

etc. would like to collect and donate snacks and/or juice boxes for our families, they are

always put to use right away in the hands and mouths of the children we serve. Please
