The SCADA system is designed for Caterpillar® Power Modules series diesel generator sets: D3516B with Terberg panels.

This SCADA is designed, to monitor, and control Caterpillar® POWER MODULE diesel generator sets with controls panels. It allows monitoring of 32 Power Modules paralleled in 15kV in island mode and with the grid, expandable to 50.

Site monitoring & management The power plant control system can be monitored when standing in front of the master panel. It can also be monitored from another remote location. The remote operator can sit in another on site location or anywhere on the globe. Typically a site or plant manager would like to manage and control the power plant from a central computer that collects data from various sensors at a factory, and from the genset control panels. Such system is generally described as SCADA: Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. SCADAs’ are a control and management solutions used in a wide range of industries such as Electric Power Generation and many more. The below describes the local and remote SCADA options offered by CATEPILLAR with our diesel generator set control system. The proposed SCADA is capable to monitor the generator control panels and any device connected to the network. To monitor more data, the SCADA shall be equipped with more I/O.

Local monitoring (SCADA) This SCADA can monitor and control a power plant installation from an “on-site located” control room. All generator set control panels and the floor standing Master panel are connected via a dedicated Ethernet network to the site SCADA Desk TOP PC This includes a specific Ethernet port device called “switch”. This 5 ports industrial switch is connected to the Standard 5.7” or to the Premium 12” touch screens. One switch is required for each PM control panel on site. The switches will be connected to each other with straight TP-Cable with RJ45 connectors. Local monitoring includes:

o Time unlimited license Software o 1 (ONE) software protection dongle. o 32 x industrial Ethernet switches to be fitted in the control panels. o The PC workstation.

o PC workstation Celeron or equivalent. o +XPPro License o +19" flat screen o +Jet printer.
