In Australia, the Student Clinician program began in 1982 with participation from all Australian and New Zealand Universities, and in 2009, we welcomed the University of Fiji into the program.

The program is held every second year with final presentations made at the Australian Dental Association National Congress and winners are announced at a special Dentsply Sirona Dinner event.

The SCADA program offers a wonderful opportunity to further clinical skill, network with colleagues and develop lifelong friendships. You will become one of the future leaders of the profession.

The SCADA objectives are

• To promote, support and recognise dental research by students and faculty advisors within all dental schools

• To provide quality standards and guidelines for the dental schools in research, clinic planning and judging

• To help orient and educate the individual student clinicians toward a successful career that includes dental research

• To provide SCADA Associates with a network and ongoing opportunities for dental research
