EE 1001 ENGINEERING ETHICS S. G. BURNS December 2020 Professional Ethics is an important part of engineering practice. For your information, review, and to respect throughout your engineering career, I distributed and will be discussing the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Code of Ethics. The Texas Tech University National Institute for Engineering Ethics, with funding from the IEEE Foundation and many other professional societies including the National Society of Professional Engineers and private sector corporations , has prepared a thought-provoking video, "Henry’s Daughters". After the video, I would like to lead a class discussion on several of the issues brought forth on the video. I have scanned some of the possible discussion questions provided in the associated study guide for your review prior to class. Obviously we can’t cover all 73 discussion topics but they are interesting to consider and think about as you move into your engineering professional career. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of these issues appeared on the Final Exam

December 2020

Professional Ethics is an important part of engineering practice.
