About us

Saxion University of Applied Sciences is located in the east of the Netherlands on three campuses, in the characteristic

cities of Deventer, Enschede and Apeldoorn. Our university has a student population of approximately 24,000, 3,500 of

which are international students. We offer Bachelor and Master programmes in over 30 different pathways. International

programmes are taught in English in a large variety of disciplines and range from business to technical studies. Saxion’s

international programmes are nationally and internationally accredited and therefore the degrees are recognised through-

out the world. This will enable you to seek employment in your home country, or many other countries around the world.

Education at Saxion is very student centred and focused on professional practice. As a student you are very much respon-

sible for your own study process. Of course our tutors and teachers are there to help you and give

advice. Most of our tutors have years of experience in professional organizations. The study atmos-

phere at Saxion is friendly, multicultural and open.

Saxion has offered Bachelor and Master programmes in English

for many years now and our courses have proven to be extremely

popular with students from around the world. At present students

participating our programmes come from over 70 countries as

diverse as Indonesia, Germany, India, Norway, China, Taiwan,

Russia, Brazil, Rwanda, Japan, Bulgaria, Poland, Lithuania, Vietnam,

Romania, and Turkey, to mention but a few. Our courses are

specially oriented towards the international field of activity and

emphasize the importance of European and worldwide per-

spectives. As a university of applied sciences, Saxion greatly values

practical skills and applied research. The programmes are highly

focused on best practice and skills to be used in working situa-

tions, preparing you for immediate entry into the profession of

your choice and further studies.

* A short degree programme (SDP) allows you to study at Saxion for 2 to 4 semesters, depending on your educational background, and obtain a full bachelor degree.

Saxion offers you an excellent opportunity to expand your

the Saxion Connect International Talent Programme.

This programme offers our international graduates a chance

to gain work experience at a company or organization in

the Netherlands. Through Saxion’s extensive network of

General entry requirements

To enter our Bachelor and Master courses, an academic

IELTS score of 6.0 (or comparable level of English proficiency)

is necessary. To enter our Preparatory courses, slightly dif-

ferent requirements apply.

Scholarships

Saxion Top Talent ScholarshipThis scholarship is for excellent and outstanding students

only. If you are granted with a Top Talent Scholarship, you

only pay the legal registration fee. After your admission to

one of our bachelor courses, you can apply for the Top Talent

Scholarship.

Saxion Talent ScholarshipFor talented students a partial scholarship is available that

will give a substantial reduction of the tuition fee. You can

apply for a Talent Scholarship by filling out our (online)

application form. This scholarship provides a reduction of

the tuition fee of € 3,300. Our Talent Scholarship will be

granted on a first come, first served basis.

Extended Saxion Talent ScholarshipFor students enrolling in our four-year bachelor

courses, the Extended Saxion Talent Scholarship

provides a reduction of the tuition fee after the

first year. To be granted an Extended Saxion

Talent Scholarship you’ll have to prove

excellent study progress and study results.

This scholarship is a partial scholarship.
