Crane with Slurry Pump from Harbor Beach

This alternative involves hiring a crane and operator to hoist a 75 to 150hp pump (Toyo DP150B or similar) and lower it into the areas between the pipes daylighting on the east jetty and K2 dock in the entrance channel. This type of pump has a jet ring attachment that liquefies the material, similar to the jet pump on Seabright’s snorkel. Photos of similar operations are attached. Renting a small booster pump would likely be required to assist in moving sand from the east jetty to the outlet end of the pipe. The location of the discharge would need to be coordinated with the discharge from Seabright in

order to effectively monitor for H2S from both pipes, or utilize offshore disposal. The crane would be positioned adjacent the harbor’s east jetty, or atop a barge.
