SardiniaS a r d i n i aAt the very tip of Sardinia, at the sulcitani mountains
astride the natural park of the Is Cannoneris and the
sea, lie the 50 hectares of company vineyard, planted
on ancient farmland particularly rich in decaying
Palaeozoic granites. The variety of the soil texture,
the breezy climate, and most importantly the range
of temperature change give rise to an environment
that belies the natural inclination of this land for wine
growing.
Situated amid pink granite hills and wood of ancient
olives and carob trees, the overall size of the cellar
is 2700 square meters, of which 120 are used for
aging, 1000 for vinification process, and 500 house
the machinery, services, cold cellar, and destemming
area.
Two further buildings measuring 400 square meters
each stand alongside the cellar. The first building
houses the tasting and direct sales area, while the
second will be used a commercial marketing area
and conference hall.

South AfricaS t e l l e n b o S c hStellenbosch is perhaps the most
famous wine-producing region
in South Africa. The town, in
Western Cape’s Coastal Region,
is steeped in history and is home
to the country’s best-known wine
estates.
Vineyards cover the gently
rolling hills of Stellenbosch, from
Helderberg Mountain in the south
to the slopes of Simonsberg
Mountain in the north. The
Golden Triangle, a sub-region in
Stellenbosch, is widely recognised
as SA’s finest wine-growing sub-
region. This terrain allows for a
lot of variation in wine styles, and
meso-climates suitable for the
cultivation of all sorts of grape
varieties can be found among the
exposed hills and sheltered valleys.

inland from Cape Town and just
north of Stellenbosch, it is home to
some of the Western Cape’s best-
known wineries.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz,
Pinotage, Chenin Blanc and
Chardonnay are all important grape
varieties in the region. Paarl’s huge
variation of terroir gives wine farms
opportunities to experiment with
many different grape varieties and
blends. The red wines are rich
and robust, with a great intensity
of fruit. The white wines are fruit
driven and tropical.

South Africaf r a n S c h h o e k v a l l e yThe Franschhoek Valley is a broad, vineyard-lined
valley leading up to the historic town of Franschhoek -
the Gourmet Capital of South Africa.
Franschhoek has a warm, continental climate, ideally
suited to the production of heavy, robust red wines
and rich, fruit-driven white wines. The shadows cast
by the surrounding mountains help to moderate
temperatures, reducing the amount of sunlight that
reaches the vines. This is particularly true on the
south-facing slopes, where high trellising systems
are used to catch the passing sun. The mountains
surrounding the area help to trap the cool
southerly winds, lengthening the growing season
and producing complex aromas in the grapes.

It is believed that there are now over 700 vineyards
in England and Wales. Although there is a
concentration of wine estates in the South East, not
all of these are in Southern England, or East Anglia,
with several in Herefordshire, the Midlands and the
West Country.
east anglia
This expansive area, stretching from North Norfolk
through Cambridgeshire and Suffolk to the Thames
estuary in Essex, offers dry but sunny conditions
for growing vines. Common grape varieties include
Bacchus and Reichensteiner - both known for their
resilience to cooler and dryer climates.
kent
Often referred to as the “garden of England”, Kent
combines a warmer climate than most other counties
and combined with its chalky and limestone soils,
provides near perfect growing conditions for vines.
Famous for the Chapel Down Vineyard - one of the
leading vineyards in the UK, the county is well known
for producing high quality sparkling wines from the
Bacchus and Chardonnay grapes varieties, as well as
red wines from Pinot Noir.
Surrey
Home to some established Vineyards such as High
Clandon, Chilworth Manor, Albury and Greyfriars,
the chalk downland of the Surrey Hills, mostly south
facing, provide a virtual replica of the Champagne
region of France. Unsurprisingly therefore that the
main varietals are Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Piot
Meunier, producing ripe, minerally wines with good
acidity.
Sussex
Split into two separate counties, Sussex extends from
Rye in the East to Chichester in the West. Similar to
Surrey, the rolling South Downs that traverse both
East and West Sussex, provide similar topography
and soil types to the Champagne region, with light
chalky and limestone soils, well suited to viticulturists
looking to produce high quality sparkling wine.
