Sunday 31 May 2020 NIGHT Time of Issue: 2000 hours IST ALL INDIA WEATHER SUMMARY AND FORECAST BULLETIN Significant Weather Features ♦ The Low Pressure Area over Southeast & adjoining Eastcentral Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep area now lies as Well Marked Low Pressure area over the same region. It is very likely to concentrate into a Depression over Eastcentral & adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea during next 12 hours and likely to intensify further into a Cyclonic Storm over Eastcentral Arabian Sea during the subsequent 24 hours. It is very likely to move nearly northwards initially till 02nd June morning and recurve north-northeastwards thereafter and reach near north Maharashtra and south Gujarat coasts around 03 rd June,2020. ♦ The Depression over south coastal Oman and adjoining Yemen moved westwards with a speed of 09 kmph during past 06 hours and lay centred at 1200 UTC of 31st May, 2020 near latitude 17.0°N and longitude 53.0°E, about 110 km nearly west of Salalah (Oman) and 120 km northeast of Al-Ghaydah (Yemen). It is very likely to maintain the intensity of Depression during next 12 hours and weaken gradually thereafter. It is very likely to move slowly west-southwestwards during next 24 hours. ♦ Under the influence of above system, Light to moderate rainfall at most places with isolated heavy to very heavy falls very likely over Lakshadweep area, Kerala and Coastal Karnataka on 31st May & 1st June. Light to moderate rainfall at most places with isolated heavy falls very likely over south Konkan & Goa on 31st May and isolated heavy to very falls on 1st June. Light to moderate rainfall at most places with isolated heavy to very heavy falls very likely over Konkan & Goa on 2nd and 3rd June. Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy falls at few places and extremely heavy falls at isolated places over north Konkan and north Madhya Maharashtra on 3rd and 4th June. Conditions are becoming favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of south Arabian Sea, Maldives-Comorin area, southwest and southeast Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours. ♦ Conditions are very likely to become favourable from 1st June, 2020 for onset of Southwest Monsoon over Kerala. ♦ Current spell of rain/thunderstorm over northwest India likely to reduce from tonight with isolated activities continue to occur over the region during 1st and 2nd June. Significant Weather Features

♦ The Low Pressure Area over Southeast & adjoining Eastcentral Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep area now lies as Well Marked Low Pressure area over the same region. It is very likely to concentrate into a Depression over Eastcentral & adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea during next 12 hours and likely to intensify further into a Cyclonic Storm over Eastcentral Arabian Sea during the subsequent 24 hours. ♦ Conditions are becoming favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of south Arabian Sea, Maldives-Comorin area, southwest and southeast Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours.

♦ Conditions are very likely to become favourable from 1st June, 2020 for onset of Southwest Monsoon over Kerala.

♦ The Western Disturbance as a trough in mid-tropospheric westerlies between 3.1 and 5.8 km above mean sea level roughly along longitude 72°E to the north of latitude 25°N persists.

♦ The induced cyclonic circulation over Haryana & neighbourhood at 1.5 km above mean sea level persists.

♦ The cyclonic circulation over southeast Rajasthan & neighbourhood extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level persists.

♦ The cyclonic circulation over northeast Rajasthan & neighbourhood upto 0.9 km above mean sea level persists.

♦ The east-west trough from northwest Rajasthan to Manipur across the above cyclonic circulation, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim at 0.9 km above mean sea level persists.

♦ The cyclonic circulation over Meghalaya & neighbourhood at 1.5 km above mean sea level persists.

♦ The cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand & neighbourhood at 0.9 km above mean sea level persists.

♦ The trough from the cyclonic circulation over Lakshadweep area across Telangana, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka and Kerala at 0.9 km above mean sea level persists.

Weather Forecast for next 5 days * upto 0830 hours IST of 05th June, 2020

♦ Meteorological sub-division wise detailed 5 days precipitation forecast is given in Table-1.

♦ Maximum temperatures likely to be in range 41-43°C over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. No large change in maximum temperature likely over Gujarat during next 2 days and over Maharashtra and Goa during next 24 hours and fall by 2-3°C during subsequent 2-3 days. Maximum temperature likely to fall by 2-3° C over Central India and plains of North India during next 2 days and rise thereafter.

♦ No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over rest parts of the country during next 48 hours.

Weather Outlook for subsequent 2 days from 05th June, 2020 to 07th June, 2020

♦ Fairly widespread to widespread rain/thundershowers likely over northeast India, Islands and along the west coast; isolated to scattered rain/thundershowers over Western Himalayan region & adjoining plains of northwest and Central India and parts of south peninsular India.

♦ Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over Gujarat, and Daman, Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli.

♦ Dry weather likely to prevail over the remaining parts of the country.
