8 GULGONG SHOW 2019

A Word From the President Tracey Spencer

We hope everyone is looking forward to this years show, as

much as our new committee. We would like to thank Ian Haynes, who stepped down as president this year, Ian has been our president since 2015.

We would also like to wish Jean and Bruce Monaghan, all the best as they start a new chapter in their lives.

Judy Eady has been the treasurer since 2007, Judy has worked tirelessly and contributed so much to the show. We are pleased

Judy is staying on to share her knowledge. Thank you, Brigid Glover, for all your wonderful work as

Secretary. We wish you all the best for the future. On a sad note, the Show Society would like to acknowledge the achievements of two members that have sadly passed away in

2018. Bill Hensley was one of our longest benefactors and a Life Member. Enid Giggiolli renowned for years of judging. Both will

be truly missed for their years of dedication to the show. In the past the local shows were the most important events on the calendar. It was a time to catch up with friends, neighbours

or just meet new people. Everyone would get together to discuss their fleeces or who has the best ram, best bull or even milking goat. Brushing their horses, washing poultry or choosing their best birds. They would be picking their biggest pumpkins, best tomatoes, cucumbers or even collecting onions out of the vegetable patch. The smell in the kitchens with cakes and jams cooking, final touches to their needlework or handicraft, picking the best rose from the garden. So PLEASE put it back on your

calendar and get your items in for 2019 show. If everyone enters just one item or an animal, it will make the show more interesting and we won't lose OUR local

show, like so many other small towns. THANK YOU.
