PROGRAMCONFERENCE DESCRIPTIONThe Saskatchewan Interprofessional Stroke Conference is directed to family physicians, emergency physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, nurses, and paramedics. Other health professionals are welcome to attend. The format includes plenary sessions followed by question panels to facilitate audience participation and discussion, and interactive, small group sessions featuring case discussions.

LEARNING OBJECTIVESParticipants in Saskatchewan Interprofessional Stroke Conference will be able to describe best practice guidelines and innovative strategies for stroke prevention and treatment including:•Primary and secondary

stroke prevention•Clinical recognition and

assessment of stroke•Triage in rural and urban

stroke recognition•Stroke in women

– pregnancy/risk assessment

•The procedure for thrombolysis in acute stroke

depression, or incontinence• Assess the post-stroke patient for driving and identify who should get a

formal driving assessment
