Ghost Warrior- Zhong Kui

Zhong Kui is a figure from Chinese mythology that can be traced to the reign of Tang Dynasty in China. Traditionally regarded as a vanquisher of ghosts and evil beings, and reputedly able to command 80,000demands, his image is often painted on household gates as a guardian spirit, as well as in places of business where high-value goods are involved.

He looked so barbarous with a leopard-like head, tiger-like forehead, and his face was covered in a beard. Despite his wild appearance, he is the god of literature and examinations and was reputed to be an expert in material arts.

Round Dance for Peace

The statue consists of three figures. They are holding hands and dancing to the rhythm constantly. From one point of view, it represents a family, or, a father, a mother and a child. It is a symbol of a close relationship, reliability and love between parents and a child. From an other point of view, the motion of these three figures expresses a round dance. In Russian traditional culture, a round dance has a variety of meanings and symbolizes the sun, the intimacy of a human relationship and regeneration of nature and life. Turning in a clockwise direction, the three figures represent stages of human growth and ties between generations. The statue symbolizes the hope of peace for the world and friendship between nations.
