Reason and Prerequisites

You imported Support Package 9 for Solution Manager 4.0 and you want to use

the Maintenance Optimizer functions to support the download of SupportPackages from SAP Service Marketplace.

Solution

If you want to use the maintenance optimizer functions in Solution Manager

4.0, you must make a number of Customizing settings. If you want to use a

productive Solution Manager client, you must use transaction SCC4 to

temporarily remove the assignment of the 'Production' role before executing

the configuration program or before activating the Business Configuration

(BC) Set.

You can make the basic settings in your Solution Manager client using a

program:

- To do this, implement the correction instructions of this note

into your system. These correction instructions create report

SM_PREP_MAINTENANCE_OPTIMIZER in your system. Use transaction

SE38 to execute this program in your Solution Manager client.

Once you have successfully executed this program, the

maintenance optimizer is configured.

- A guideline about how to implement the note and execute the

program is attached to this note. You can use the program to

activate the maintenance optimizer configuration once for each

client (inconsistencies may arise if you execute the program

repeatedly).

As of ST 400 Support Package 11, the implementation of this note is

obsolete. Instead, you must execute IMG activity "Set Up Maintenance

Optimizer" or call transaction SM_MOPZ.

Alternatively, you can use BC Sets and piece lists to make the following

manual settings:

- In transaction SCPR20, activate the SOLMAN40_MOPZ_TTYP_SLMO_000

BC Set in your Solution Manager clients. Perform the activation

in expert mode with the option "Overwrite Everything". You can

select expert mode after you have chosen "Activate".

- Create a new transport request (transaction SE09) in the source

client of your Solution Manager system. Unpack file

SOLMAN40_MOPZ_TTYP_SLMO_000.zip, which is attached to this

note. Copy the contents of the SOLMAN40_MOPZ_TTYP_SLMO_000.txt

file into the transport request. Use transaction SCC1 to import

the transport request into your Solution Manager client. You

must call transaction SCC1 in target clients (Solution Manager

client).

- In transaction SCPR20, activate the

SOLMAN40_CHARM_PROXYFACT_001 BC Set in your Solution Manager

clients. Perform the activation in expert mode with the option

"Overwrite Everything". You can select expert mode after you

have chosen "Activate". You do not need to carry out anyfurther manual activities for this BC Set.
