• 7 Ways how to export from SAP to MS Excel



How to export, is it complicated? No. SAP offers 7 ways how to export data (lists, reports) to MS Excel. Here we offer 7 ways how to execute it:

Export No. #1 For our purpose, lets use transaction MB51:

A) Right click by your mouse on the list of entries and select Local File:


B) Then select Spreadsheet:

C) Then write the path to the file stored on your computer:

As you can see, the exported file is in .txt format and therefore we can expect not very-well managed data formating.


This is, how the exported data look in MS Excel:

Export No. #2

A) Select in the main menu List – Save – Local File

B) Again we can select several types of exported data. If you prefer HTML format (everybody can open it), then it can look the following way:


C) This is the output presented in HTML – you can open it in Web – browser for instance.


Export No. #3

A) Select in main menu: List – Export – Local file

B) Select again the type of export you want to execute. Now we can try copy to the clipboard of your computer:


C) Then you can use CTRL+V to put the data into MS Excel or any other program. But the format of exported data is not very easy to use for following processing:


Export No. #4 This export is possible to execute for example in transaction MB52. By that we want to say, that not every transaction offers the possibility to execute this export.

A) Press the small icon named Local file in the menu:

B) Choose the most suitable format for you:


C) Save the file:

A) Go to main menu and select List – Export – Spreadsheet (or use keyboard shortcut CRTL + SHIFT + F7)

B) Then the following pop-up window appears and you can select the output type in the select box. We recomend to use the .xlxs format:


C) The output then has easy to use format and is easy to use in Microsoft Excel:


Export No. #6 For our purpose, lets use transaction MB52:
