Business Blueprint
Common Pitfalls:
The customer specialist knows the process of the actual system, how it was designed
several years ago – but doesn‘t know how the process is running in the warehouse right
now...
The customer specialist knows the requirements for the actual system and wants to have a
1:1 replacement of the functionality
(EWM functionality is maybe different => different solution for the same requirement)
Recommendations:
An User Interface Mockup will help all participants to understand the future look and feel
(can be defined with more details during realization in a design phase!)
Talk to warehouse workers: they know how they work but also the roadblocks.
Start Sizing based on designed processes.
Reevaluate material flow concept in case it changed while blueprint.
Sign off blueprint in order to avoid too many changes.
