SAP Lumira is an agile visualization solution that allows business analysts to combine multiple data sources and quickly discover unique insight that can be shared throughout the organization. Designed for ease of use, the software combines fast data manipulation with visualizations, allowing users to explore and analyze trends and maximize data knowledge.

2. What can I do with SAP Lumira?

Connect quickly to all the data you need – big and small

Combine and transform enterprise and personal data sources in a repeatable, self-service way

4. Is SAP Lumira generally available?

Yes. SAP Lumira was released to customers on May 1, 2013 and we are releasing updates on a monthly basis.

5. How many SAP Lumira editions does SAP offer?

SAP offers 3 Lumira editions:

1. SAP Lumira, personal edition

o Explore and analyze spreadsheet data using visualizations. o Connect to spreadsheets and SAP HANA One data sources o It’s free, forever! – Download it from www.saplumira.com

2. SAP Lumira, standard edition

o Explore and analyze data using visualizations and discover answers without IT’s help o Connect to numerous data sources including SAP HANA, but NOT universes (BI

suite and Edge) o $995 US; only through SAP store and distribution channel

3. SAP Lumira (i.e. enterprise edition)

o For business analysts, the fastest, way of discovering answers from any data without IT’s help

o Connect to all data sources including SAP HANA and SAP BusinessObjects universes

o Contact your local SAP sales representative to discuss pricing and your organization’s specific needs

6. Who can use and benefit from SAP Lumira, personal edition:

Business people (including business analysts) – individuals working in small or medium organizations and departments within large organizations using Microsoft Excel for analyzing and interpreting data. The analysis and understanding of data is fundamental to their jobs.

Data Enthusiasts – individuals filled with enthusiasm in the pursuit of a hobby or activity relying on statistics (for example: baseball enthusiast)

10. Is SAP Lumira Server a native SAP HANA application?

Yes, SAP Lumira Server is a native SAP HANA XS application hosted on and managed by the SAP HANA platform. SAP Lumira Server can be installed using SAP HANA Lifecycle Manager

umira is a desktop based solution that complements and extends the value of SAP BusinessObjects Explorer. With the web and mobile experiences of Explorer, business users can quickly explore their data and build their own dashboards. SAP Lumira complements these two experiences while offering business analysts the ability to perform more advanced analysis using visualizations and graphs.

11. Can SAP Lumira be purchased standalone or does a customer require a SAP BusinessObjects BI license?

You don’t need SAP BusinessObjects BI.SAP Lumira is a desktop based solution that can be used directly against your data sources. SAP Lumira can also connect to existing SAP BusinessObjects universes (3.x and 4.x).

12. Do you need SAP HANA if you wish to use SAP Lumira?

No. Having SAP HANA is not a prerequisite. If you have SAP HANA in your IT environment, SAP Lumira can connect to SAP HANA data sources. SAP Lumira provides the following capabilities:

o Direct connectivity to huge volumes of SAP HANA data online o Consume HANA analytic and calculated views o Enrich HANA analytic view with geographical information (maps) o Consume time hierarchies created in SAP HANA o Publish stories to SAP Lumira Server

13. Does SAP Lumira have a mobile version?

SAP Lumira stories published on SAP Lumira Cloud can be accessed from any mobile device supporting HTML5 when. SAP Lumira Cloud is also integrated with SAP BusinessObjects Mobile, which you can download for free from the Apple’s App Store.

14. Does SAP Lumira support other languages than English?

SAP Lumira supports the following languages: English, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish.

15. What data sources can I connect to from SAP Lumira?

With personal edition, you can only connect to Excel data (CSV, XLS and XLSX) and cloud data hosted on SAP HANA One.

With SAP Lumira, standard edition, you can also connect to the data sources listed below. SAP Lumira, standard edition also connects to SAP HANA and SAP BW data exposed as views in SAP HANA.

SAP Lumira (i.e. enterprise edition) also connects to SAP BusinessObjects universes (3.x and 4.x) files.
