SAP Adaptive Server Platform Edition: Flexible, Simple LicensingWith SAP Adaptive Server Platform Edition, SAP simplified its licensing in four important ways:

Three database products in one. The new licensing model entitles the customer to perpetual license deployment rights for either SAP ASE, SAP Replication Server, or SAP IQ for production use. Licenses can be reallocated at any time, without contacting SAP.

Designed for the way companies work today. SAP Adaptive Server Platform Edition offers flexibility to move licenses between machines and OSes without contacting SAP. Unlimited license keys for dev/test, QA, DR or other nonproductive uses are pro-vided at no additional cost.1 Internet use, virtualization, and cloud deployments are supported at no additional cost.

Value-added options included. Key premium options for SAP ASE, SAP IQ, and SAP RS are now part of the base product, amounting to about $100K per core in additional value, at no extra charge.

Simple. You can write a simpler deal. From a sales standpoint, there are three products with about 8 options, compared with about 40 material codes for earlier versions.

SAP HANA Accelerator for ASE: The Power of SAP HANA for ASE Installed BaseMany companies run reports from SAP ASE, replicating data from ASE servers to other ASE or IQ servers to meet reporting needs.
