diversity of climates.
Spain is divided into 19 autonomous communities 15 on the Peninsula, the Balearic and Canary Islands, and two autonomous towns bordering Morocco
(Ceuta and Melilla).
In addition to the national capital of Madrid, each autonomous community has a capital (e.g. Barcelona for Catalunya), and within each autonomous community there may be more than one province (e.g. Comunidad Valenciana consists of 3
provinces - Valencia, Alicante and Castellón) that also has a capital and which may be different to the community capital.
Our Autonomous Community is called Castile-La Mancha. Its capital city is Toledo
.Castile-La Mancha is formed with the
provinces of Toledo, Ciudad Real, Albacete, Cuenca and Guadalajara. Placed
into there´s a single region known as La Mancha .
It´s in this region where the story of the famous Spanish novel Don Quixote by
Miguel de Cervantes is situated. La Mancha remains a symbol of the Spanish
culture with its sunflowers, oliveyards, windmills, Manchego cheese, and Don
Quixote
